The particle acceleration cannon was a concept first developed by the evil
and chaotic Umgah as a new means of destroying anything in sight. Setec
Industries, a small company based out of the Theta Orionis star system, near
the Umgah's home system (Beta Orionis), managed to get a hold of the design
aspects of the particle acceleration cannon through means of highly illegal
espionage. Since then, Setec has developed the Umgan design into a capital
ship weapon, and placed it on the open market hoping that someone like the
New Republic or one of the various Imperial warlords will pick up a contract
to manufacture and buy the weapon.
