April/2024 UPDATES

27/April/2024 Posted by Freddy

A long running joke on the site between Hellstormer (my co-administrator) and me has been him wanting to cook and eat most of the creatures I've uploaded to the site. So over the years we've had him asking for recipes, and asking what the various creatures taste like (probably chicken).
So, after much time, I've added a bunch of recipes for a number of the Star Wars creatures on the site to their own section (yes it's not really on topic, but the silliness makes me smile), Star Wars Recipes. These pages link to the creature stats, and the creature stats link to these recipes, it's been a lot of work for a silly joke that we've taken way too far.

On a more serious note, the episode of The Bad Batch this coming week is the series finale, so I'm going to be resuming daily updates after the review of that episode, so I'll be working my way through the episodes of season 3 of the Bad Batch, then I'll be reviewing and covering Tales of the Empire as it is released, and once they're both out of the way, I'll be moving onto the Knights of the Old Republic comic series and working my way through that. So back to normality.

And this weeks review of The Bad Batch, Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Season 3 Episode 14: Flash Strike. In this penultimate episode, the Batch finally reaches Tantiss, but are shot out of the sky and forced to sneak towards the mounting. Meanwhile Echo and Omega already within the fortress begin their plans to free Omega and the other Force Sensitive kids.

Okay, I've added a bunch of new updates to the YT-Designer, new ship parts. But brand new are the New Hulls, so you can have different designs that just the plain disk of the majority of YT class vessels. Now, not all of these look great with all of the additions (adding engines or mandibles designed for the standard disk doesn't look great on some of the other designs of hull), so have a play around and see what works for you.
        New YT-Designer
And now I'm off to do some more code for something else coming to the site.

And this weeks review of the most recent episode of The Bad Batch, Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Season 3 Episode 13: Into the Breach. Where the Batch sneak aboard a transport to Tantiss, and Omega finds a potential way out of the Vault.

So the code is in place for the new version of the YT Designer, at the moment it just has exactly the same modules that the older version has. But this version is far easier to add to, and will allow many other changes beyond what the older version allowed. Anyway, here's the link to the new version, New YT Designer, and over the next few days I'll be adding new parts to the designer.
Anyway, back tomorrow with this weeks review of The Bad Batch.

And a last couple from Issue 6 of Phase III of the High Republic Comic, today I've added Tey Sirrek (Sephi Thief) to the Star Wars D/6 Characters Section, & Hand of Siberus to the Star Wars D/6 Equipment Section of the Site.
It's been pointed out to me that more of the background of the characters I've added over the last couple of days could be found in Phase II of the High Republic Comic as they make appearances there. So I will be covering that in a few months as soon as I've finished with Phase III, I'll go back and cover Phase II to flesh these and others out.

So another couple of addtions from the latest issue of High Republic. Now both of these (and Waran Val from yesterdays update), are members of religions which follow The Force, but whether that means they are Force Sensitives, or actual Force Users seems a little unclear. I've used my judgement depending on the particular sect they follow (Fallanassi seem to be Force Users, Church of the Force seem not to be, and it's really unclear as to whether the Matukai are as they were in the Expanded Universe). Anyway, today I've added Sirene (Human Politician), & Kilan T-Dara (Ayrou Politician) to the Star Wars D/6 Characters Section of the Site.

And a few additions from this issue of High Republic, as there's a lengthy flashback so lots of people we've never seen before. So today I've added Waran Val (Kel Dor Politician), & Vildar Mac (Kiffar Jedi Master) to the Star Wars D/6 Characters Section, & Ayrou to the Star Wars D/6 Species Section of the Site.
More to come tomorrow, see you then.

And this months High Republic Comic, issue 6, which confusingly jumps straight into Chapter 2 of The Hunted storyline without any mention of a Chapter 1. So here's my review of The High Republic: The Hunted: Chapter 2: Back to the Light, where we get introduced via a lengthy flashback to Tay Sirrek.

I've wanted to cover the various MAR Corp Troopers for a few issues, but although we've got some names for them ( Blades, Chamdaka and Tandorvo), but the only one I've actually been able to identify is the Gigoran, Tandorvo (Rebel Gigoran Cyborg MAR Corp Trooper) which I've added today to the Star Wars D/6 Characters Section of the Site. Back tomorrow with the latest High Republic comic.

And my comics came out, so here's my review of the latest issue of Vader, Darth Vader: Issue 45: The Martyrium of Frozen Tears, where Vader is still gathering forces and power to use against Palpatine, but a confession reveals the possibility of something far more important to him.
Back with some stat's from it tomorrow, and then the newest High Republic comic after. that

And the second of the two Bad Batch episodes this week, Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Season 3 Episode 11: Point of No Return, where the Empire tracks the Batch down, and comes for them with overwhelming forces and tactics.

05/April/2024 Posted by Freddy

So I'm back already with a review of this weeks Bad Batch, Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Season 3 Episode 10: Identity Crisis, where the regulars don't feature at all, and we spend the episode with Emerie Karr at Mount Tantiss and see the workings of Project Necromancer.
Turns out I chose the week where there's two Bad Batch episodes to begin taking my break, so I'll be back again tomorrow for the second episode.

Oh, and was excited to see the trailer for Tales of the Empire, which seems to be the second season of Tales of the Jedi, but focusing on the Imperial Inquisitors and Shin Hati, which looks pretty darn good, and is out in only a month.

Usually in March each year I take a few weeks off doing updates, because for some reason it's that time of the year I begin to feel burned out on producing something every day.
But going in to March this year, I was feeling fine, I was reviewing fun stuff and getting additions made to the site. So was thinking of skipping the break this year.
But as we go into April, the burn out has hit me hard. I think it was the technical problems that hit the site, spending a day digging through logs to get to the core of it, and then the unresponsiveness of my Web Hosting company, just created stress which stripped the fun from doing the updates each day.
So, now is the time I'm going to take a break. But it's only going to be a partial break. We've got new episodes of The Bad Batch released each week for me to review, ready to do the stats at the seasons end, and I've got new issues of Vader and High Republic due in the next week. So I'll cover those as they're released, so while daily updates will stop for a few weeks, there will continue to be some limited activity on the site.
And as always, a reminder that this isn't me stopping daily updates forever, I've still got loads of plans for the site. With the next big series I'll be covering is the Knights of the Old Republic comic series, 50 issues running from 2006 up until 2010. We'll have that interrupted by the stats for Bad Batch, and we've got The Acolyte, and Skeleton Crew coming up later in the year to review and stat as well. And finallu, I'll be covering the Sequel Trilogy in my completist fashion, covering every single thing mentions on their Wookieepedia pages. So big plans for the future, with loads of stuff to add to the site and blast us through the 10,000 stats level. So see you in a couple of days for the next review, and I'll be back to daily updates before the end of the month. . .

And based upon the lastest issue of The High Republic Comic, The High Republic: Children of the Storm: Chapter 5: Monster and Apprentice, I've added Sephi to the Star Wars D/6 Species Section of the Site.

I've never liked the meanness of April Fools Day, taking peoples innate trust and using it against them. But I do like silliness, so as is usual for April 1st, here's some silly additions to the Star Wars RPG. Today I've added Lightsaber-Resistant Underwear, & Holographic Banana to the Star Wars D/6 Equipment Section, & Lightsaber Balance to the Star Wars D/6 The Force Section of the Site.
Back to the High Republic and normality tomorrow (or at least what passes for normality).
