Description: Skye, designated Marat V by the Galactic Republic, was a terrestrial planet in the Outer Rim Territories and the home of the S'kytri people. Remaining isolated from the wider galaxy, the world attempted to gain admittance into the Council of Neutral Systems during the Clone Wars but was interrupted by an invasion led by Zeta Magnus.

Before developing into a terrestrial planet, ancient Skye was a turbulent world of seismic activity and violent unrest on its surface. Various beasts such as mutant blorgworms, five-headed gogitols, blood-sucking beasts roamed the planet's surface and contributed to the chaos before the birth of the S'kytri people. According to legend, the hero Hormaket the Vanquisher led the S'kytri in a war against the ground-roaming beasts and imprisoned them within the depths of the Entyrmion's subterranean hell. With the conclusion of the primordial warfare, the S'kytri established a primitive civilization and remained independent from other civilizations as much as they could.

Culture on the planet was divided into three distinct sets of clans: the Highland and Lowland Clans which governed the world, and the outcast Outland Clans which were deemed genetically inferior. Consisting of about one third of the planet's population, the Outlanders were castigated for having red or orange skin and banished from the aeries and cities of the green and blue-skinned S'kytri. During the Clone Wars, the Outland Clans joined forces with the mad geneticist Zeta Magnus in an attempt to destroy the other S'kytri clans. However, Magnus infected all S'kytri with a mind-ravishing plague which drove his loyal servants mad. Feasting on them as others launched suicidal campaigns against the mountain fortresses of their Highland and Lowland cousins, Magnus nearly wiped out the species before being driven offworld by Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Halagad Ventor. In exchange for the antidote to Magnus' plague, the planet's Patriarch and Supreme Council pledged fealty to the Jedi and vowed to fill any debt that was called.

Under the Galactic Empire's tyranny, Jedi Skywalker returned to Skye in his new guise as Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. Calling on their debt, Vader established an Imperial puppet government on Skye, headed by the Force-sensitive Majestrix of Skye, Kharys. During this period, the planet was restricted, and anyone who set foot on it without a permit from Kharys was put on trial. When a group of two-dozen Corellian smugglers landed on Skye without Kharys' consent, she executed them, all but Han Solo and Katya M'Buele who escaped the planet. Not long after, in 0 ABY, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Solo traveled to Skye and confronted Kharys. With the backing of the Supreme Council, Skywalker attacked Kharys in lightsaber combat and defeated her, therefore liberating the planet from the Empire's grip.

Highlands

The Highlands was a mountainous region on the planet Skye.

Canaitith Mountain

Canaitith Mountain was the location of Kharys's fortress on Skye. The fortress was built high atop the mountain peak.

Kharys' fortress

A fortress was built by the genetics terrorist Zeta Magnus atop the Canaitith Mountain, the highest peak on the planet Skye. Although Magnus was defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi and his pupils Anakin Skywalker and Halagad Ventor in 22 BBY, his fortress was later reused by Kharys when she became the Majestrix of Skye with the Galactic Empire's blessing.

In 22 BBY, the first year of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a clone of the genetic abomination known as Zeta Magnus took control of the planet Skye. Using a mutagen, he transformed a third of Skye's natives, the S'kytri, and made them his zombie-like servants. Magnus subsequently ordered them to build him fortress-keep atop Canaitith Mountain, the highest peak on the planet, where he would rule as the self-styled Magister of Skye. However, the Republic dispatched Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Halagad Ventor, three members of the Jedi Order, to intervene. The Jedi manged to infiltrate the fortress, and the clone of Magnus was eventually killed by Ventor.

After the end of the Clone Wars, the Republic was replaced by an authoritarian Galactic Empire. At some point during the Imperial period, Anakin Skywalker, now a malevolent Dark Lord of the Sith known as Darth Vader, came back to Skye. He taught the ways of the dark side to Kharys, a female S'kytri who had once helped him during the conflict with Magnus. By 0 ABY, the Empire bestowed the title of Majestrix to Kharys, who had claimed ownership of Magnus' old fortress. The Majestrix, however, was killed in an aerial duel with Luke Skywalker that took place above that citadel.

The fortress-keep of Zeta Magnus stood atop Canaitith Mountain, and its foundation blended into the rock of the mountain itself. Built entirely from living bloodstone, the fortress was a mishmash of architectural styles. Its rectangular main section was buttressed by two towers built in the style of the Serennese aristocracy. A third tower, half again as tall as the others, rose from the primary section. Each tower was crowned by an organic-looking minaret similar to the hive spires of Geonosis. Together, the three towers seemed to emulate an irreverent finger gesture of Korunnai origin. Every side of the structure featured gaudy and impractical windows in the modern Onderonian style. The greatest of those windows ornamented the front and back of the middle section, giving it the shape of a double-ended dagger.

In contrast to its outer appearance, the inside of the fortress was very austere, with most rooms and halls coated in reflective yet cold ultrachrome. Nonetheless, the citadel housed a laboratory built to look like a dungeon.

Entyrmion

The Entyrmion was a vast, labyrinthine cavern complex located under the mountain ranges of Skye, a planet in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. The natives of Skye, the S'kytri, regarded the Entyrmion as their underworld, and, as such, it was off limits. According to the S'kytri mythology, the surface of Skye was originally ruled by chaotic monstruosities, which ended up being locked up in the Entyrmion by the hero Hormaket the Vanquisher.

S'kytri Council Tower

The S'kytri Council Tower was the champagne-colored tower in which the Supreme Council of the Highland Clans convened. It was separated from the rest of the City of the Winged People by a wide chasm. Since the S'kytri were a flying species, they had no trouble accessing the tower. However, an open-air causeway had been installed so that the "walkers" wishing to address the Supreme Council could traverse the chasm.

Mount Krisklar

Mount Krisklar was one of the many mountains of Skye, a planet of the Marat system. In the mythology of Skye's native sentients, the S'kytri, that mountain was considered a goddess. The myths said that the chief god known as the Great Wind once mated with the goddess Krisklar, siring the S'kytri species itself. When a S'kytri died, his or her body was brought to Mount Krisklar for excarnation by flying skingles. During the Battle of Skye in 21 BBY, a number of mortally wounded S'kytri attempted to make for Mount Krisklar before breathing their last.
