I like the fiction of the Star Wars Star Cruiser much better than the reality of it, lol...

Freddy, questions on this thing:

1- The 6,000 tons Cargo Capacity, what is your thinking on that for how you came to this amount? I would have thought more, but I wanted to know your thought process on it, might show me something I didn't consider.

2- I want one, yet, I see no price. *looks one more time*, Cost?

3- The space for 6 starfighters, are they for defensive purposes, or do these count as space for shuttlecraft, like for the personal transports of patrons/customers and such?

4- Along with 3, are the passengers meant to board only when the star cruiser is landed/docked, or might this ship have a docking bay where the wealthier patrons come and go as the please?

5- How widespread would you say these are across the galaxy? What areas of the galaxy are the likely to be found in? How difficult would it be to purchase one (Availability?)? What custom mods and upgrades would you recommend for this craft in various other roles of questionable Imperial legality???

6- Also, the weapons listed, are those from any particular source? The "Heavy" and "Light" turbolasers' Damage kinda threw me for a loop, and I wanted to ask your thought process on that too.

Okay, a bunch here!

1: This is mainly a passenger liner, so the 4000 passengers would occupy the bulk of the space, even saying that a berth takes 10 tonnes, then if stripped of passenger cabins, it would convert to an extra 40,000 tonnes of cargo space. And that's not including spaces for restaurants, recreation areas, etc.

2: I don't tend to put costs unless it's up on Wookieepedia, so didn't even guess for this. But the Indulgent Class Passenger Liner which carries 1,500 passengers costs 25,500,000 credits. So maybe thereabouts?

3: They're for defence, as this would be a fairly tempting target for pirates. It would have external docks for transports, but doesn't carry any.

4: For 4,000 passengers, I'd think it would dock to a station, or land (as we've seen passenger ships do in The Mandalorian), but external airlocks would allow smaller numbers to be shuttled to and from the vessel.

5: This is a High Republic era vessel, so by the time of the Empire I'd think they'd be looking worn out and be used in the fringes of the galaxy, vessels which once were pristine and luxurious, but now are stained, worn and patched together. In their prime they'd have been used in the core systems.

6: Because it's a High Republic era vessel, I just took normal weapons and lowered the damage as it's a Civilian vessel and uses older technology than during the Galactic Civil War. In my designs lately, I tend to treat Heavy Weapons as 5D, Normal as 4D, and Light as 3D, with upgrades for number of weapons (quad, etc), so this plays off that design choice, with the Light Turbolasers scaling down to Starfighter Scale.

As usual just my thoughts, and my choices are very dependent on how I feel on any particular day. :D

6: You don't have to lessen the damage. Check out the first few pages of Galaxy Guide 16 The Old Republic, Rancor Pit awesomeness at D6Holocron.

While I like that idea a whole bunch (had considered ripping it off for the site), it misses some things about the eras, and would make you have to power certain things up. For example it's mentioned in episodes of Rebels that Stormtrooper Armour is greatly inferior to Clone Trooper Armour. So if you were using that table, you'd need to add a dice to the Clone Trooper armour to compensate, and then add a bonus dice to all Clone Wars era weapons to balance those as well.
And would a Clone Wars era Y-Wing be weaker than a Rebellion era one, even though we've seen they're the same vessels (physically the same ones, as the Rebels steal them from a Scrapyard), just stripped down for ease of maintenance.

As I said I really like that idea, that eras of Star Wars would work like the 2R+E scale system, but I just can't make it work in my head.
