Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Season 6 Episode 8: The Disappeared, Part 1

What is it ? : The planet of Bardotta requests help from the Republic, but will trust only one member of the Senate, Representative Binks. Not trusting him, Palpatine asks the Jedi to send someone along with him, and Mace Windu volunteers.
However, the people of Bardotta don't trust the Jedi, as the planet was a source of many force users, but the Jedi gained a reputation for being child kidnappers, so they are banned from the planet.
Mace is allowed to stay on Jar Jar's word, as Jar Jar is a friend of the Bardottan Queen and a friend of their people, but he causes problems as he is sidelined from the discussions. Jar Jar discovers that the Dagoyan Masters, Bardottan force users, have been disappearing, and legend has it this means doom for the people. As Jar Jar briefs Mace, the Queen disappears, and speaking before their government, Jar Jar promises his help to the people. Mace also informs them there is something wrong with the force here, and this leads them to a temple beneath the city.
Jar Jar gets kidnapped on the way, and discovers that the ancient Frangawl Cult, who are draining the Dagoyan Masters of the force to awaken the demon Malmourral. Mace rescues Jar Jar, but the Queen is taken by the cult leader aboard a starship fleeing the planet.
Jar Jar promises that he will rescue the Queen with the help of his Jedi friend.

High Points : There's not much to this episode, a bit of a homage to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and it's over quickly, and that's about all I can say for it.

Low Points : The running joke in this episode is that Mace isn't trusted by the Bardottan people, as the Jedi have a bad reputation, and Jar Jar is a trusted friend, so is totally trusted, and that's the joke which most of the episode hangs off.
Oh, isn't it hilarious as Mace is forced to wait outside as Jar Jar talks with the Queen.
Isn't it so wacky that Mace is called Jar Jar's servant.

No, no it's not.
It's a slightly odd situation, but that remains interesting for all of 20 seconds out of the running time.

So what do you really think ? : I really didn't like this one, it's a return to the terrible old days of season 2 and 3.

Final Words : At least it's only a 2 part story, rather than the 4 parters of the past couple of seasons, I really think I would abandon the series even at this late point if I knew I had 3 more parts of this to go.

Score : 6.5/10
