Heroes of RPGs: West End Games

        Welcome back to Heroes of RPG's, this time I'm doing an entire company, the creators of the D6 system, and publishers of the Star Wars RPG, West End Games.

        They were founded in New York City in 1974 by Daniel Scott Palter, and perhaps this Heroes should be about him, but he has a life story far more expansive than just Role Playing Games, and much of the story of the company is his anyway.

        West End Games was named after the bar in which the meeting that finalized its founding occurred: the West End Bar near Colombia University. The company published straight wargame designs initially, including some of Palter's own designs such as Marlborough at Blenheim (1979). And some licenced products, such as Star Trek based games. . . .
