APRIL 2004 UPDATES

QUOTE OF THE MONTH:
"I am a Ranger. We live for the One, we die for the One. We go to the dark places where no one else dares venture! We stand on the bridge and no one passes." - Various Rangers, Babylon 5, J M Straczynski

This and many other great images by "Bob the Dinosaur" in the gallery section of our forum, why not stop by and check them out, rate them or make a comment?

Well my computer troubles finally seem to be coming to an end, my replacement system is operating and stable (a replacement motherboard stopped the power supplies failing), and I've ordered replacement parts so that my old system will operate again and I can return the motherboard, processor and ram that I borrowed from L. These parts arrive friday (along with a KVM switch and some networking cable so I can connect the systems together), so hopefully I can get back to full operation then. However I'm still struggling with University work, and with my exams looming in 3 weeks time as well as coursework to finish off, it looks as if RPGGamer.org will continue at its current, sporadic updating speed. However we've been discussing various things, and the time has not been wasted with several larger ideas being planned which hopefully should come to light over the next couple of months. Thanks for bearing with us during our difficulties, and we look forwards to your continuing support in the future.

Well the second annual RPGGamer.org Smackdown has now ended with Wolverine slipping ahead at the last moment and keeping his title from last year. In second place is Captain James T Kirk forcing Legolas down to third position this year, followed by Teal'c, Jango Fett and Monkey in that order with everybody else trailing far behind. The full results were . . . .

I meant to get another editorial finished to replace the smackdown one, but due to my usual lack of time I've put back up the previous one. Also a new poll has begun, so lets start the ball rolling on which is the coolest starship, although I've an good idea which is going to win.

13/April/2004

Added Sienar Fleet Systems DX-9E "Stormtrooper" Transport to the Star Wars D/6 Starships Section.

10/April/2004

Added Galarnes Industries Restitution Class Courier to the Star Wars D/6 Starships Section.

09/April/2004

Added Kuat Drive Yards Nebulon-H Frigate, Nartisstue Action Transport, Sienar Fleet Systems V-38 TIE Devestator Starfighter and Slayn and Korpil LD B-Wing Starfighter to the Star Wars D/6 Starships Section.

Well a larger than usual update today to make up a little for the lack of updates lately, this was due to the failure of my entire system. Although I was rapidly provided with replacement parts on loan from a friend (thanks L), my installation of Windows not loading drivers and slight incompatibilities between the motherboard and my hardware have led to the system being somewhat erratic in operation.

Also the purchase of an entire new system has caused problems since it has blown 3 power supplies in 2 weeks (although hopefully the purchase of a 550w power supply should have now resolved this, but I won't know until nothing happens ;).

With 3 weeks remaining of the final year of my degree I have little enough time, but the constant running around for parts and maintaining and repairing faults as they appear has meant that I have little time for the site. However I will try to continue updates as often as I can.

Sorry for this temporary blip in our service, but we requested help with the site many months ago and the lack of feedback was resounding, so a problem like this was only waiting to happen. Updates will continue as often as possible, and again we apologise for the disruption.

Due to computer problems (and thats an understatement) I have been unable to update the site for the last week or so. Things should soon return to normal (or at least what resembles normality), and hopefully updates should restart later this week with a jumbo update to make up for lost time. Sorry for the incovenience, but circumstances were outside our control.
