Description: The Kingdom of Dreams was a starship capable of interdimensional travel. Cody Sunn-Childe and his followers retreated to an extra-dimensional realm in the Kingdom. Although the starship also existed in realspace, Sunn-Childe claimed that everything in his City of Dreams was composed not of matter, but of "psychic energy."
The Kingdom of Dreams consisted of a flat superstructure resembling an island and the dome-covered City of Dreams constructed on top, surrounded by a fantastic jungle. The ship could travel between dimensions, allowing Sunn-Childe and his followers to escape the ravages of the Galactic Civil War. It was destroyed by Captain Plikk and Lieutenant Nizzon's fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers in 3 ABY by means of hyper-drive pod energy channeled through laser batteries; all its residents were killed, including Sunn-Childe.
City of Dreams
The City of Dreams was an extradimensional city located on the starship Kingdom of Dreams where Rebel leader Cody Sunn-Childe took refuge in Imperial times. According to Childe, the city had been created by his "psychic power," and everything in the dimension it existed was not material, but rather composed of "psychic energy."
The City of Dreams was located on a unique starship that Cody Sunn-Childe and his followers used to travel to a strange dimension so as to escape the cycle of violence in the galaxy. Sunn-Childe created the city as a peaceful paradise where its residents could exist without interference from the Galactic Civil War. Beyond the dome which covered the city lay a jungle wilderness populated by strange creatures that, according to Sunn-Childe, were manifestations of the repressed horrors of his own soul. Power emanations from the City of Dreams were untraceable in realspace due to its ethereal nature; in this way, its citizens could monitor Imperial transmissions undetected.
Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca stumbled upon the city by accident when the Millennium Falcon had a technical malfunction while traveling through hyperspace. However, upon meeting Sunn-Childe, Lando rejected the peaceful ideal of the dream citizens, accusing them of turning their backs on a galaxy who needed them in the war against the Galactic Empire. It wasn't long, however, before the Empire brought the war to the cityĆ¢ā‚¬ā€¯a fleet of Star Destroyers under Captain Plikk slipped through the tear in the dimensional fabric in which the City existed by channeling all their hyper-drive anti-matter pods to their frontal laser banks. The fleet destroyed the city and its residents, but was left powerless after such a great expense of energy. Calrissian decided to leave the fleet behind, stranded in the other dimension with no way for them to return home as punishment for destroying Sunn-Childe's paradise.
