Description: Darth Hate, The AstroMech of Pain, began life as a simple R2 unit, R2-H8, sold to Senator Palpatine of Naboo. As Palpatine began his experiments in turning a child into a living weapon by dropping them into a dangerous situation and making them fight for their life, he noticed the learning capacity of his AstroMech, and decided to experiment on it too.
R2-H8 was forced into Gladiator fights, and destroyed on multiple locations, but the defeats turned into victories as he learned from his defeats, learning a hatred not only for his opponents, but the organics which cheered on his destructions, and the master which forced him into these fights.
Under the careful tutorage of Palpatine the hatred turned the little AstroMech to the Dark Side of the Force, and Palpatine mockingly described the droid as "Darth Hate" The AstroMech of Pain, showing him off to his apprentices.
Between fights, R2-H8 had access to Palpatines secret archives and began learning the ways of the Sith, opening himself to the Dark Side and constructing his own lightsaber.
As the 2nd Death Star was destroyed, and the Imperial palace looted upon the fall of the Empire, R2-H8 took the opportunity to sneak away, plotting the destruction of every other being in the universe.
