Description: A subtram was a vehicle used by the Belugans on the planet Quarzite. It was similar to a hover-train, and was suspended by large rings which it passed through. However, unlike a hover-train, the subtram traveled inside huge crystal caverns because the surface of Quarzite was uninhabitable.

At some point during the Clone Wars, a subtram was used to transport an abducted Kage female, Pluma Sodi. The Belugan leader, Otua Blank, wanted her to be his bride. However, his forces had been in ineffective against the Kage warriors. Blank, concerned that the Kage would attempt and succeed in stealing Sodi back, hired six bounty hunters, Boba Fett, Bossk, Latts Razzi, C-21 Highsinger, Dengar, and Asajj Ventress, to protect the cargo along with his henchman, Major Rigosso.

The Kage warriors did attack, and a fierce confrontation between them and the bounty hunters ensued. After quite a fight, Dengar, Bossk, Highsinger, and Razzi were thrown off the subtram. The leader of the Kage, Krismo Sodi, brother of Pluma, killed Rigosso and fought off Fett, knocking him unconscious. While doing this, Krismo opened the box that Pluma was being held in. Then Ventress barged in and defeated the Sodi twins. However, Pluma gained Ventress's sympathy when she told her that she had been ripped away from her home. Ventress too, had been ripped away from her home.

Ventress bound and gagged Fett and put him in the box. She then delivered the box to Blank, but not before collecting a bounty. She then returned Pluma and Krismo to the Kage warriors, for a price. The subtram made its way back from Otua Blank's stronghold to the station at the entrance to the crystal caverns.

Coruscant also had its own subtram system.

So.....it costs the same as a starfighter?

Actually, now that I am thinking about it. Considering real-world stuff, now I'm wondering what the difference would be between a modern train (perhaps a passenger version like a subway/metro train, maybe even adding room for carrying cargo like for mining and such), and then comparing that to the cost of something like an F-22 Raptor or F-35 Lightning II. I guess the X-Wing would make a good comparison, or since these were during the Clone Wars era, maybe something more like the ARC Fighter or Clone Z-95.

A little research tells me that each carriage of a modern train costs around 4-5 million, and a Eurofighter Typhoon costs 90 million.
But Star Wars costs are way out of whack anyway, when a crate of Blaster Rifles (1000'ish credits each) can equal or exceed the costs of a ship to carry them (20-30 thousand credits).

Good points all around. A video by Generation Tech on YouTube actually talked about the costs and other factors of producing TIE and X-Wing starfighters. In the TIE fighters' case, the higher the number of units being made and sold, the cheaper the cost gets. And since the Empire was producing these on a galactic scale, costs would get ridiculously cheap. This would even carry over to the star destroyers, as big as the Empire's navy was.

The X-Wing, I forget of this was mentioned for it, but the idea wouldn't fit for it. The Rebellion used mostly hand-me-downs from the Clone Wars or anything else they could get their hands on that was cheap, and the X-Wing was one of the few things they heavily invested in. Since the X-Wings were relatively so few in number compared to, like, everything else, their cost would have been.....well, more than the hundred thousands range, that's for dang sure.
