Model: Translatacomp
Scale: Character
Cost: 5,500
Availability: 2
Game Notes: The Translatacomp give the user a bonus ability to speak languages, giving them a +2D to their Languages skill. Although far more expensive than a protocol droid, it is far more portable, and far more limited.

Description: A translatacomp, also known as "transcomp" , was an electronic translator device that could automatically deduce translations between languages.

A translatacomp relied on a dictionary database. Feeding it with more vocabulary and other information, the more accurate the translation.

Leia Organa, while on Shiva IV, had to learn the mysterious Calian language, since it was not recognized by her translatacomp, and update its database herself.
