Background:
U.S. Air Force Technician Specialist Laurence Tureaud was born May 21, 1962 in the rough south side ghetto of Chicago, Illinois, USA, and was the eleventh of twelve children; he and his four sisters and seven brothers grew up in the city's housing projects. He played football, studied martial arts, and won a scholarship to Prairie View A&M University, Texas, but was thrown out after a year. After that he went to a couple of small Chicago colleges on athletic scholarships. After leaving college he joined the U.S. Air Force, working his way up to colonel in 1999, when he was accused of a crime he almost certainly didn't commit, and was busted down to specialist once more in the hopes he would be humiliated and quit.
He never, and remained in the Air Force, although never gaining rank, but gaining trust until he was assigned to the Stargate program in Cheyenne Mountain.
He has 5 children, 2 20`ish boys (Sonny and Carl) by a previous marriage in Los Angeles, his ex-wife having recently died. He has 2 daughters (Lesa (8) and Erika(4)) and a son Laurence Junior (6) from his current marriage to Phyllis Clark.
He loves working with machines, serving his country (whether or not as ordered) and his family.
