Description: IG-11 (pronounced as Eyegee-Eleven) was a masculine IG-series droid who worked as a bounty hunter around 9 ABY. Part of a series of assassin droids largely outlawed in the galaxy, IG-11 was programmed to follow protocols of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, and had built-in last-ditch failsafes to prevent himself from being captured while working as a hired gun.

The droid had a thin body built on an armored substrate that could withstand repeated assaults, and was both reliable and durable. He was direct, unaware of sarcasm, and did not know how to lie, making him childlike. He was often mistaken for IG-88, a famous bounty hunter droid.

Biography
The unsuccessful job

Around 9 ABY, IG-11 was destroyed by the Mandalorian while attempting to kill the Child, though he was later repaired and re-programmed by the Ugnaught Kuiil in order to assist the retired vapor-farmer. During the mission to Nevarro and after the death of his master, IG-11 sacrificed itself via self-destruction in order to kill a platoon of stormtroopers to stop The Child from being captured.

Around 9 ABY, IG-11 was dispatched to the planet of Arvala-7 to terminate the "asset." Arriving at an heavily guarded outpost, he dispatched a number of Nikto mercenaries after they refused to comply with subparagraph sixteen of the Bondsman Guild Protocol waiver—which stated that they were required to produce the asset to IG-11. After dispensing a number of guards, the droid encountered another bounty hunter, known as "the Mandalorian," by surprise and shot him, knocking him down. Having not been injured, the Mandalorian offered to split the bounty on the asset and the droid agreed so long as it would obtain the reputation merits associated with the mission. While speaking to the Mandalorian, the pair was ambushed by more mercenaries who managed to corner the bounty hunters and overwhelm them. In compliance with its programming, IG-11 attempted to initiate its self-destruct sequence to ensure that it's design wouldn't fall into enemy hands.

The Mandalorian managed to convince the droid to continue fighting, eventually using IG-11 to distract a Nikto-manned turret so the Mandalorian could hijack it and use it to eliminate the remaining mercenaries. With the outpost's defenders terminated, IG-11 and the Mandalorian proceeded to use the hijacked turret to cut through a blast door and enter the outpost. Inside, they located the asset, which was revealed to be an infant member of the same species as famed Jedi Grand Master Yoda. Despite the Mandalorian insisting they keep the child alive, IG-11 protested, stating that the commission stated clearly that the target was to be terminated (contrary to the Mandalorian's assignment which preferred the target to be captured and brought in). Raising its blaster to complete the task, IG-11 was shot and destroyed by the Mandalorian, saving the infant child.

Restoration
In the wake of the Mandalorian's destruction, IG-11 was salvaged and repaired by the Ugnaught vapor farmer Kuiil. With some considerable effort, Kuiil was able to repair the droid. Due to the damage caused by the Mandalorian, little of IG-11's neural harness remained, leaving the droid with no memories or abilities to speak of. Over the course of many days, Kuiil gradually re-trained the droid to assist him on his vapor-farm, tending to the Blurrg and eventually preparing meals among other simple tasks. Kuiil reinforced IG-11's development with patience and affirmation. During the droid's "rehabilitation", IG-11 began to develop a new personality and a seemingly far friendlier demeanor than its previous incarnation.

Upon the Mandalorian's return to Arvala-7, IG-11 entered Kuiil's hut to offer the newcomers tea. Immediately, the Mandalorian and his companion Cara Dune drew their blasters, both aware of the threat the droid posed. Kuiil explained that IG-11 was re-programmed and was no longer a hunter but could still protect should the need arise. The Mandalorian still refused to trust the droid and only begrudgingly agreed to Kuiil's terms to bring the droid along on their mission.

IG-11 later joined Kuiil aboard the Razor Crest on the mission to Nevarro in order to assist the Mandalorian. During the trip, IG-11 prepared a meal for its companions, the invitation to which the Mandalorian swiftly declined. IG-11 stayed aboard the Razor Crest as per the Mandalorian's orders for the duration of the mission. Unfortunately, the former assassin droid would not see his master again, as Kuiil was gunned down by Imperial scout troopers mere meters from the Razor Crest.

Nursing and protection
After Kuiil was killed by the Imperial scouts and the Child was taken, the two troopers stopped and waited for authorization to return to the city. During that time, the scouts repeatedly taunted and abused the child. IG-11 found them, insisting that they cease their physical abuse and introduced itself as the Child's nurse droid. Taken aback, the two imperial scouts laughingly demanded that the unusual IG-Droid leave. IG-11 then broke one scouts arm and threw him aside before lifting the second trooper by his face-plate and repeatedly smashing him into a speeder-bike. Boarding the second speeder-bike with the rescued child, IG-11 set off into the city to assist the Mandalorian and his comrades.

Making its way through the city on the bike, IG-11 dispatched many imperial troopers with its blasters, eventually reaching the cantina where its companions were trapped by Moff Gideon's troops. With the Imperials distracted by the droid, the Mandalorian, Cara Dune and Greef Karga fought their way out of their holdout. IG-11 killed several stormtroopers alongside its allies, all the while protecting the child from harm. The group later took refuge in a nearby building after the Mandalorian sustained a head-wound. IG-11 provided an escape route into the sewers by using a built-in plasma cutter. This allowed Dune and Karga to escape with the child, whilst the droid stayed with the Mandalorian, who sought a noble death rather than die at the hands of the Imperials. IG-11 refused the Mandalorian's request to kill him, reiterating that it was no longer a hunter, but was programmed to nurse and protect. IG-11 stated that he would need to remove the Mandalorian's helmet in order to save his life. Despite initially refusing and threatening the droid, the injured warrior relented after realizing that IG-11 was not a living being and thus it would not break his oath to be seen unmasked.

IG-11 applied a bacta-spray to the Mandalorian's injury and they rejoined the others in the sewer. IG-11 would follow the Mandalorian to the hiding place of The Tribe. IG-11 provided protection to the group and the Mandalorian Armorer, while the other discussed the future of the child and re-equipped themselves.

IG-11 would later join his companions aboard a droid-driven barge aboard a river of lava. While aboard the barge, the Mandalorian's imaging systems revealed that there was an entire platoon of stormtroopers waiting for them at the end of the river.

Sacrifice
Knowing that the imperials would surely overpower the group, IG-11 deduced that the only way to fulfill his primary objective of protecting the child was to initiate his built-in self destruct mechanism in order to kill the Imperials. The Mandalorian, who at this point had come to trust the droid and was saddened by this prospect, insisted that there was another way through the trap. IG-11 stated that it would be fulfilling his purpose and that it should not be mourned as he was never alive to begin with. Bidding the Child farewell by stroking one of its ears, the assassin-turned-nurse droid then stepped off of the barge into the molten lava of the river. Making its way up the river towards the Imperial ambush, the droid stopped before the troops. With its final words acknowledging his manufacturer's protocol, IG-11 self-destructed, killing the entire platoon of stormtroopers.

Legacy
IG-11's sacrifice saved the Mandalorian, Dune, the Child and Karga. The Mandalorian would later destroy Gideon's TIE-Fighter and leave the planet with the Child in his care.

Characteristics
IG-11 was an IG-Series assassin droid built for high-paced combat. Thanks to its 360° field of vision, IG-11 had an incredible sensory advantage on the battlefield. This, coupled with his advanced combat programming allowed him able to engage with multiple targets at once in both hand-to-hand and blaster-based fighting. IG-11 also demonstrated the ability to pilot a speeder-bike whilst using his two signature blasters.

IG-11 was armed with an E-11 blaster rifle and a DLT-20A laser rifle. IG-11 was immensely strong, capable of lifting a stormtrooper with one hand and repeatedly slamming him into various surrounding objects. In addition to his blasters, IG-11 also had a thermal detonator built into him as a self-destruct mechanism by his manufacturers in an effort to prevent his design from being stolen or copied.
