Description: Sister H'Tar was a female Force-sensitive individual who lived during the High Republic Era. Originally a member of the Fallanassi, she was eventually found by Baron Boolan of the Nihil marauders and experimented upon to become a member of his Children of the Storm, capable of inflicting visions of others' fears. Now a Jedi hunter, she sought out Force-sensitive children for Boolan's experiments, hunting a young Yacombe girl on the planet Kindosorn. The troubled Jedi Master Sskeer protected the girl from H'Tar, while the wanderer Tey Sirrek and a group led by Master Keeve Trennis also came into conflict with the Jedi hunter. Sirrek helped the Jedi break free from H'Tar's visions, although H'Tar was eventually able to kidnap the Yacombe—the former Nihil Lourna Dee preventing Sirrek from intervening due to having planted a tracker on the girl—and take her to Boolan on Tragor Station.
Biography
Fallen Fallanassi
A Force-sensitive female humanoid, H'Tar lived during the High Republic Era. She was a member of the Fallanassi, an order whose members trained in the light side of the Force and were adept at projecting illusions. H'Tar was eventually taken by the Ithorian scientist Baron Boolan, the Minister of Advancement of the Nihil marauders, who experimented on her and turned her into one of his Children of the Storm, a group of Jedi hunters, within which she was known as Sister H'Tar. The Force-sensitive Sephi wanderer Tey Sirrek was familiar with H'Tar and her past.
In 229 BBY, H'Tar was tasked with kidnapping Force-sensitive children for Boolan. Alongside a Nameless creature, she was dispatched to the planet Kindosorn, within the Nihil's Occlusion Zone territory, seeking a young girl of the Yacombe who was powerful in the Force. The Trandoshan Jedi Master Sskeer, in a uncontrolled state as a result of his Magrak Syndrome, protected the girl from H'Tar in the Ruins of Tadneer. Fellow Jedi OrbaLin and Goonral Monshi were in hiding from the Child of the Storm on Kindosorn, while Sirrek was also on the planet to stop H'Tar.
Jedi Master Keeve Trennis, Sskeer's former Padawan, entered the Occlusion Zone in search of him alongside Jedi Knight bond-twins Terec and Ceret and the former Nihil Lourna Dee, encountering OrbaLin and Monshi, who warned them of the Jedi hunter and the Nameless. While Trennis went to find Sskeer with Dee, H'Tar sabotaged the group's T-1 shuttle in the Nirne Jungle and unleashed her Nameless on them. H'Tar subjected Terec and Ceret to illusory visions—of the Drengir and many Nameless, respectively—mocking the Jedi and weaponizing their fears. Sirrek was able to help Terec recognize the visions as false, despite H'Tar demanding them not to listen to him, allowing the two twins to break free. However, the Jedi were unaware that H'Tar's Nameless was real, and the creature attacked Monshi before being killed by Sirrek using the Sith artifact known as the Hand of Siberus.
Kidnapping on Kindosorn
Trennis, Sskeer, Dee, and the Yacombe girl regrouped with the others, choosing to camp overnight in the ruins after honoring Monshi, who had passed away from his injuries, and burying the deceased Nameless. While Trennis kept watch as the others slept, H'Tar subjected her to a vision of the dead Nameless emerging from the ground and turning her allies—and then Trennis herself—into husks, attempting to play on her doubts and convince the Jedi that she had failed to protect them. With Trennis distracted, H'Tar kidnapped the Yacombe girl and began to climb out of the ruins. Trennis saw through the illusion, but the others discovered the girl was gone when they awoke, spotting H'Tar as she made her escape.
The Jedi hunter was unconcerned, however, confident that the group would turn against one another; indeed, when Sirrek attempted to use the Hand of Siberus against H'Tar, he was stopped by Dee, who had planted a tracker on the girl with the intent of locating where the kidnapped children were being taken. Dee's intervention led to the Jedi quarreling, allowing H'Tar to escape. Trapping the Yacombe girl in a potent nightmare in order to subdue her, the Jedi hunter took her to Tragor Station. There, H'Tar was greeted by Boolan's assistant, Reek, who threatened that their superior might experiment on her and put her together wrong if she had harmed the girl, although Boolan himself arrived and reprimanded Reek for having ideas above their station.
Personality and traits
After being made into a Child of the Storm by Baron Boolan, H'Tar was a relentless hunter serving the Nihil. She was confident and did not fear the Jedi, mocking them and expecting they would tear one another apart. H'Tar had white skin, white eyes, and white hair; by her time as a Child of the Storm, her head was largely bald, with several strands of hair over her forehead.
Powers and abilities
A former Fallanassi, H'Tar was strong in the Force. She was skilled in inflicting illusory visions onto others, drawing out her opponents' fears and using it against them.
Equipment
As a Child of the Storm, H'Tar wore light gray cloth wrapped around her torso and arms, black pants with gray knee plating, and brown boots. She also wore a brown cape that had several tattered strands on the end. A gray mask, through which one of her eyes could be seen, was attached to her face by straps around her head.
