What is it ? : The Young Jedi are visiting Bracca to see how the scrappers there make a living. They are guided by a scrapper named Eren Kitt and her droid M1-M1, and shown how the scrap is dumped onto the planet and then the various scrappers race to it and pick through for whatever is valuable, living my the rule, Finders Keepers.
They are scavenging when M1-M1 gets damaged and needs a new powercell, but they are rare and there are not likely to be any left anywhere on the planet.
Luckily a new batch of scrap is dropped off and they race there, discovering a power core with loads of power cells in it. Eren loads these into a container, but it gets stolen by rival Pikpik scrappers.
They chase after them, and even though the Pikpik's skiff gets damaged, they get away. Eren knows where they usually make a base so they head there, Eren tries to steal the power cells back, but the Pikpik notice and turn agressive. The Young Jedi suggest that perhaps explaining her need to them might help, so Eren explains how M1-M1 is broken and needs the part, and she needs her friend back, so the Pikpik hand over a powercell and M1-M1 is reactivated.
In return Eren suggests that she has parts she could give the Pikpik to repair their skiff, and they trade for them, and the Young Jedi tell her that perhaps the scrappers don't need to follow Finders Keepers anymore and can work together. . .
High Points : While it's kind of nice to see Bracca again, as it's the introductory level in Jedi Fallen Order. It's kind of tragic to see that it wasn't always an organised scrapping centre used for recycling technology left over from the Clone Wars, but was originally just a planet wide dump, where the Scrappers lived among the junk.
Low Points : The Young Jedi lecturing the Scrappers on how they live, when the Scrappers are living in a wastedump shows how oblivious they are to peoples needs. The Jedi live in a temple with all of their needs provided, where the Scrappers pick amongst the junk other people throw away to survive.
So what do you really think ? : There's not much to this episode, the message is the basic "everyone should help one another", and it is blind to the situation they've set up on Bracca. The scrappers obviously don't have a way on or off planet, there aren't any farms, so must trade the scrap they pick from amongst the wreckage the galaxy discards for stuff to trade for food, or they starve.
The reality of how Bracca must operate is tragic, but this is a kids show, so we just have the Young Jedi lecturing the Scrappers that they should work together and share the trash they find.
Final Words : The episode moves along well enough, and it's interesting to see a version of Bracca which isn't buried deep in junk, where the planets surface is still visible. But I really can't find much to recommend this one.
