What is it ? : The Rakghouls burst out of the citadel and begin attacking the assembled Mandalorian conscripts, who fight back, and a battle rages slowly being swung in favour of the Rakghouls whose bites are converting more and more of the conscripts into new Rakghouls.
Zayne and Celeste manage to escape the Rakghouls which were attacking them, and Celeste realises that Zayne is doing this by chance, and she can't get her head around the idea of him being accused of the murder of the Padawans, as he's obviously not capable. And as they talk he asks her about the name Krynda, which she denies knowing, and she asks about the Jedi Covenant, which he catches that she knows the name of while denying to know anything about it. But he decides he needs to warn people about the Rakghouls, as that's what Jedi do, to which Celeste answers, that's what she thought they did.
Inside the citadel, Gryph has reached the banking records he heard Pulsipher talking about, commenting that he's never seen a grown man talk to his mother more than Lucien Draay. Among the records he finds a recording Draay made about the Muur Talisman, and discovers that Draay has sent Celeste Morne after it.
Inside the Mandalorian communications centre, Celeste contacts Lucien, who orders her to retrieve the Muur Talisman, and to kill Zayne. She lets Zayne use the communications system next, preparing to strike him down from behind, but overhears him warning the Mandalorian's to not land here, telling them he cares because they're people. And Celeste switches off her lightsaber, having truly seen the good nature of Zayne.
They head back to the Citadel to confront Pulsipher, but Zayne gets grabbed by Rakghouls who take him straight to Pulsipher, who thanks him not only for warning the Mandalorians and letting them know the power of the weapon he now possesses. But also for getting rid of Demagol and allowing him to achieve his new position of power.
However the Talisman recognises that Zayne is a Jedi and abandons Pulsipher to try to reach Zayne, scuttling across the floor like an insect. However Celeste bursts in, and tries to rescue Zayne, grabbing the Talisman. Gryph also arrives, and shouts for her to drop the artefact, but the talisman turns on her, and she has a vision of the Sith Lord Muur and she collapses, before rising once more and declaring that the Rakghouls are a problem for everyone else, but not her, and she isn't sure what that means for everyone else. . . .
High Points : So, the real Gryph and Zayne are back. Zayne is acting heroically, putting his life in danger to help others, being very much the ideal of a Jedi, something which Celeste sees and abandons her mission to kill him because she knows that he is a good man and couldn't have done the things he is accused of.
And Gryph while being money motivated, is smart, and abandons his grab for Luciens Draays bank accounts when he discovers who Celeste really is, and rushes to warn his friend.
These are the two characters that I like, flawed, sometimes insulting to each other, but good people trying to do what's right (even if Gryph wants to profit at the same time).
I also like the twist of Zayne getting attacked by the Talisman as it wants to be joined to a Jedi, but Celeste tries to help, only for it to realise she is a more powerful Jedi, so it attaches to her. It makes sense for her to be surprised by it, since she is focused on helping Zayne and getting it away from him. So for it to turn on her and attach to her doesn't require her to act stupidly, or be suddenly vulnerable, she remains competent, but vulnerable due to her attention being elsewhere.
Low Points : Pulsipher brings Zayne to him, merely to monologue to him. To "thank" him for his actions, instead of just having him killed. The only possible reason I can think of for him doing this, is if the Talisman is manipulating him to get a Jedi near to itself.
It's an old villain mistake, but there really seems to be no reason for it here.
So what do you really think ? : I'm a lot happier with this issue than the last 2, the threat is seen to be spreading as the Mandalorian conscripts are being infected by Rakghouls, so the planet is becoming infested. And our heroes are acting like themselves once more, so I'm happy.
Final Words : The Talisman bonding with Celeste does show that Zayne isn't very powerful with the force, as it's been left somewhat vague in the past that he has some kind of other ability to form bonds, which might be his force power manifesting in a different fashion. But whatever it is he has, at least at the moment, it isn't as powerful and therefore isn't as appealing as Celeste's normal powers.
