Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: Season 2: Story 2: A Jedi or a Pirate

What is it ? : Kai, Lys and Nubs are watching some new younglings enjoying games at Haps Sap Shack, when Kai notices one sitting alone not taking part. He goes over to speak to him and find that his name is Bren and he misses his friends back on Coruscant.
Kai urges him to try to make friends, assuring him that they are friendly.
As the younglings finish later on and return to the Jedi Academy, Kai notices that Bren is missing, and spots starships in the sky, thinking he will have tried to get back to Coruscant, he heads to the starport, and is told that Bren had asked for the shuttle to Coruscant, but was seen getting onto an identical shuttle to Yarrum Tower.
Kai contacts Nash to get a lift, but she is busy and tells him he can borrow the Crimson Firehawk.
Taking the Firehawk to Yarrum Tower he crashes the ship, so goes into the tower on foot. Inside he notices a young pirate robbing a storekeeper, the young pirate then gives the fruit he's stolen to Bren. Spotting Bren, he goes over to speak and finds he's befriended this pirate, Clave Rollek, and intends to become a pirate like Clave.
Kai explains that stealing is wrong, but Bren doesn't seem convinced. Clave offers to help Kai repair the Firehawk, and they head back to the ship, discovering that a Stabilizer coil has burned out. Clave knows where one can be found, so they take the Firehawks speeder to a scrap dealer who has one, but it'll cost them, and none of them has money.
Clave causes a distraction for the dealer, Kai and Bren to deal with while he steals the Stabilizer coil, but afterwards when Kai calls him on it, he takes Bren and the speeder intending to steal the Firehawk as well. The Scrap dealer realises they've robbed her, so captures Kai, who promises to return the Stabilizer coil if she can help him stop his starship being stolen, so she gets one of her droids to take him back to the Firehawk.
Clave has repaired the ship, and intends to leave, but Kai challenges him, and Bren realises that stealing is wrong, so Clave decides Jedi are boring and leaves.
Kai returns the Coil to the scrap dealer, who rewards him for his good actions, by giving him the Coil, and Kai and Bren return to Tenoo.
Later as everyone is eating, Bren sits with the other new younglings, and they ask him about his adventure, and Kai, Lys and Nubs look on proudly.

High Points : For a short episode, there's a lot going on in this one, and it's interesting to see the main characters seeing the next intake of students and becoming the experienced ones.

Low Points : I do find it somewhat odd that Kublop Springs has a regular shuttle to Yarrum Tower, a pirate base. Do the pirates really need public transport connections that good, as I would have thought that being pirates they'd have their own ships.
The ending is also a bit too easy, for returning the stolen Stabilizer coil, the Scrap Dealer gives Kai, the Stabilizer coil.

So what do you really think ? : The episode is absolutely fine, we get some new characters, which I feel are going to return in future episodes, and I've always been a fan of the way they're populating this section of the galaxy with returning characters (even though we've not seen anyone really returning from last season yet).

Final Words : And as always, there's a message for the kiddo's watching, which is either Stealing is Wrong, or Not everyone who appears to be your friend, is your friend.

Score : 8/10
