Description: Although the Y-Wing fighter was amazingly successful, by the end of the Galactic Civil War the vessel was aged and extremely poor compared to newer fighters. Although an advanced version of this vessel was being designed for the New Republic, Koensayr wanted a version for general release to compete against the hordes of designs popping up across the galaxy. The Light Y-Wing was the result of this, incorporating many advances, and having greater speed and shielding capacity than the original, this fighter is smaller and less well armed, allowing it to be sold to civilians. The design was fairly well recieved, but sold only in small numbers due to the massive amounts of original Y-Wings still available. The Light Y-Wing has found some success with corporate security teams, who often cannot use the full might of their military vessels due to local restrictions, and the low price per unit has meant that the New Republic have purchased a number of the fighter for training purposes.
