Description: The Python is a bulk transport built by Bell-Braben shipyards, and although a large and unwieldy vessel, it has sold well because of its defensive capabilities and relative cheapness. Used by as many pirate groups as legitimate traders, sales of the Python were restricted by the Empire to avoid Rebel privateers gaining access to yet more armed vessels. However as the New Republic came to power, sales have increased once again as not only traders worried about piracy have purchased these ships, but also governments wanting to avoid their cargoes being seized by their enemies have bought large amounts of this large cargo ship.
