Description: As demands for tougher starfighters became stronger during the late Imperial and early new Republic eras, the dated R-41 Starchaser fighter recieved an update, and the R-41d model was released. The "d" variant of this venerable starfighter was fast and more heavily armed, although the vessel was no tougher, manueverable or particularly advanced than the R-41's that were already common throughout the galaxy. The more powerful weaponry and higher top speed helped the fighter hold its own in the increasingly crowded starfighter market, but against newer and more advanced designs the Starchaser continued to look dated. Common with corporations and planetary defence forces, the R-41d uses many of the same parts making upgrading from the older model and easy and cheap operation.
