Description: The Kraken was one of the first true blaster weapons introduced, and as such was far more efficient that the older Pulse Wave Blasters that were mainly in use at the time. The Kraken is a long range weapon, even today, and its low cost made it popular on the frontier of known space where it was useful in defending against hostile natives and creatures. Some of these weapons have ended up in the hands of those same hostiles, and Krakens are often seen in use by Tusken Raiders on Tatooine among others. The massive range of the Kraken, and the fact that so many of them are still operable many centuries after production ceased, makes the Kraken still fairly desirable, although weapons this old are hard to get a hold of on demand, despite the low price they can fetch.
