New Tools!
So today I've added a bunch of new tools to the site, some of these aren't particularly well implemented, but I wanted to roll them all out at the same time, so there will be updates as we go along.
Firstly the site now runs a bit of Javascript over all pages which searches for Dice annotations, 7D, 3D+2, etc, and when you click on them it rolls the dice for that amount, calculating in the Wild Die. If also searches for damage from weapons (Str+2, Strength+3D, etc), and searches the page for the most recently stated Strength, and rolls the total dice from the weapon and the strength. This obviously makes a lot of assumptions which not every page will match, but should make every stat page on the site now have a built in dice roller.
We've also got the Star Wars NPC Generator, this is probably the most buggy version, as the stats don't calculate properly for each of the Species it creates, but for a random generator, it's pretty good. It allows you to at the click of a button generate a random NPC, with some background features and some roleplaying features. The randomness does mean you can get Wookiees with clipped imperial accents, and Twi'leks with colourful hair. But random is as random does.
Next we've got the SW Encounter Generator, which can create random encounters in various biomes, some of these are combat, some not, but could be useful just to get something during play.
And finally Star Wars Loot Generator, which is my favourite as I've rambled about it a couple of times in previous editorials, that when you take down an NPC, what has it got in it's pockets. DId that random Stormtrooper have a holo of his mom in his backpack, did that YT-1300 have a cargo of duranium alloy or slaves in cryo? Now some of the random loot came from the D20 version of the game, and I think I've converted most of it, but it should be too hard to manually convert anything which doesn't look right.
Anyway, I've had these in development for a while, and something today inspired me to get them out. So here you go. What do you think?
