"I Catch it in My Teeth"

        This was during a Shadowrun 1st Edition adventure called "One Stage Before", K was playing Forest Demon his human physical adept, C was playing Tackleberry his troll gang member/ street samurai, another guy was playing a (female) human dog shaman called Balm, and I was playing Kebab my elf street samurai.

        The adventure centres about the group capturing various members of a pop band. So after getting as much background information on the band as we could, we staked them out, but they each went their separate ways, so the party split to follow them.

        Forest Demon followed the female lead singer of the band, breaking into her house as she was taking a shower and sneaking into the bathroom and waiting for her to finish. As she exited the shower he slapped her with a tranquilliser patch knocking her unconscious, succeeding in capturing her.

        Balm, followed the bands troll drummer, and tracked him back to a bar, where asking after him caused the barkeeper to decide that she was planning on causing him harm, so he beat her into unconsciousness and dumped her in the street.

        Tackleberry, tracked down the bands guitarist, and carefully and tactfully beat him into unconsciousness, but only after having a couple of guard dogs set on him and halving them with his combat axe. Tac then went on to the bar, beat up the bar tender, and the Troll drummer.

        I (playing Kebab) followed an american indian who was a member of the band. I tracked him to where he was staying with his tribe and sneaked towards the camp out in the countryside. The rest of the scene went something like this.

GM: "With a twang, an arrow is fired towards you from the bushes."

Me: "What the Fuck, how did they spot me, I pretty damn good at sneaking."

GM: "They heard your bike coming from miles off, but that doesn`t matter at the moment, what are you doing?"

Me: "What the fuck do you think I`m going to do, catch it in my fucking teeth? I`m dodging of course."

GM: "Okay, roll your dex !"

Me: "Why?"

GM: "To see if you catch it in your teeth"

Rest of Group {laughs}

Me: "I was only kidding." {mutters under breath} (rolls dice and reads out result).

GM: "Okay, you don`t manage to catch it in your teeth, but you don`t take serious damage from it either, a light wound."

         I ended up getting riddled with arrows, as there wasn`t just a single guy in the bushes with a bow, there were 30 of the buggers.

        When people still rib me about saying "I catch it in my teeth", I make the point that while everyone else had to take on a single musician, I had the entire Sioux nation to contend with. (Incidentally, Kebab survived by being rescued by Doc Wagon (the advantage of a platinum contract) who resuscitated him).
