Yeah, totally understand and agree with your thoughts about this item. This was one of the many stats I rescued from the defunct Dark Lords of the Sith website, which did have quite a few stats which I didn't agree with 100%.

All I was trying to say above was that I kind of understand the authors choices, Firearms are old tech, so cheap, Silencers in movies are silent. And the idea of a massive sniper cannon is quite cool. However, no thought was made towards balance at all.
The description does make it sound like some kind of railgun (for another RPG I designed weapons which worked in a similar manner, but were very slow to fire, very noisy, and very expensive).

(And as another point, I never spell check submissions to the site, when someone sends something in for the site, I post it as is, because if I start spell checking, then it's tempting to grammar check, and then tempting to edit and correct perceived errors, and suddenly I'm altering stuff from what the originator conceived.)

I liked reading this comment conversation. Looking over the stats, I was thinking a little tweaking by players/GMs, and this would be a fine weapon. Question: what damage do you guys think a 7.62 caliber bullet should have in general? Also, what about a 5.(I forgot the exact number, the standard round used in most American military firearms, 5.56 or something?).

american military firearms:
M-16(a1, a2, a3, a4) = 5.56mm x 45mm NATO = 3D;
M-4(a, a1) = 5.56mm x 45mm NATO = 3D;
M-40(a1, a2, a3) = 7.62mm x 51mm NATO = 4D;
M-249 SAW = 5.56mm x 45mm NATO = 3D;
M-240(B, G) = 7.62mm x 51mm NATO = 4D;
M-2 = 12.7mm x 99mm NATO = 5D;
MK-19 = 40mm x 53mm = DAMAGE AS PER GRENADE (typically 5D);
M-9 = 9mm x 19mm parabellum = 1D+2;
Various shotguns = 12 gauge = 2D-4D depending on round(shot or slug);
I include the following as a comparison
AK-47 = 7.62mm x 39mm = 3D+2
M-1911 = .4ACP = 3D
Damage and range are based upon the cartridge fired, not the weapon firing it. the weapon controls accuracy and the rate of fire, as well as contributing to the cartridge's range.
