Hero?s Past

Hero carries the features of both his parents in about equal measure. He has his mother?s dark blue straight hair, but his father?s brown eyes. His skin color is somewhere in between, slightly darker than his well-tanned father, but lighter than his mother?s pale coloring. He is not excessively short or tall being about five foot seven inches.

Hero is the only child of Sarena and his father. This caused a minor scandal with her wealthy family. Because of this and the fact that he seemed to have little money to support his new family, Sarena?s family disapproved of him.

Sarena was the daughter of an Eminent and wealthy merchant family from Chanta.

??????????? As an only child in a fairly wealthy family (some of his mother?s family helped with the finances) Hero was well educated with many lessons, which he usually lacked any focus on.

??????????? Hero?s father trained him until he became a powerful fighter. Even though he could wield a sword and other weapons skillfully he was also interested in seeing new things and the land in general to focus on weapons alone.

Hero is born just outside Chanta.

??????????? His reflection showed him that his forehead was marked with a sigil. It bore a resemblance, to the rising sun and it shone gold against his skin.

Jade was an unusual woman in that she was an extremely refined and well-educated eastern barbarian. She and Hero have known each other from a very early age, always playing together as children. Unknown to Hero her family had a secret they were among Luna's Beloved. Jade was actually a Lunar Exalted.

??????????? He carries his family?s sword a truly magnificent and ancient weapon, a double-edged straight sword with a fine golden blade inlayed with red jade-alloy. It was handed down in his Mother's family from generation to generation for many hundreds of years.

??????????? After he had proved his worth he was accepted to be a student and trained by a martial arts teacher, Katanaka Pride. He was one of the Solar Exalted of the Eclipse Caste. He was working with the Gold Faction Sidereals of the Cult of the Illuminated, though at this time this was unknown by Hero.

??????????? The oldest of Master Pride?s students was Shadow a Sidereal of Mars, the Maiden of Battles. He was highly adept at using athletics, stealth and speed and was a master at Ebon Shadow Style Martial Arts.

??????????? The temple is a large Manse guarded by Celestial Lions, Lion Dogs and shielded from detection by ancient and powerful Solar Sorcery.

The Guild was responsible for the death of his father and mother Sarena. Hero hunted down and killed the Guildmaster with his family?s golden straight sword, but is still tracking the man directly responsible for their deaths. He is wanted by the Guild for killing the Guildmaster and his associates.

Hero?s parents were killed by the Guild when he was eighteen.

When Hero and Jade exchanged vows and were married the rings they used were valuable heirlooms from the First Age of Man passed down through her family. Unknown to either Hero or Jade was that their Exalted Essences had been together in the First Age and had been joined in a marriage blessed by both Luna and the Unconquered Sun.

Hero traveled for some time around the Realm with Lo Han a Sidereal of Saturn, the Maiden of Endings and monk of the Immaculate Order. He even worked in a brutal mine called Steel Bull, until he had to leave after being accused of killing one of the guards.

??????????? Five Dragon-Blooded assassins were tracking Hero, one for each of the Elemental Dragons. Their leader Jin was one of the Wood Dragon-Blooded.

The assassins ambushed Hero and Lo Han on the city streets at night. They were able to drive the Dragon-Blooded off.

Lo Han fights with Lee Chan-Sam, the Fire Dragon-Blooded and is able to drive him off.

Yuen Wai Ho, the Water Dragon-Blooded is decapitated and killed by Hero. Mu the only female of the group is an Air Dragon-Blooded. She is highly attracted to Hero. After he stabbed her Hero gave her medical aid, which she would have died without. ?

The Dragon-Blooded Jin is jealous of Hero because he is in love with Mu. Though Mu is disgusted by him and in truth is in love with Hero. Jin is a very dangerous adversary as he is highly skilled in stealth and has a magical mask that allows him to appear as anyone he wishes.

Mu is a very skilled performer and musician with the flute.

Hero?s wife, Jade died in childbirth when his twin children were born. There were complications with the birth and she suffered from a massive loss of blood. A fire was set in the building she was giving birth in. During the confusion this started, Hero was able to save Jade and his son, but not his daughter. As he is escaping the fire Hero thinks he sees someone leaving out through the flames moving away from him. Once outside Hero realized that Jin had set the fire.

He has no idea where his daughter is, but an old family friend, Sheung is looking after his son. Upon meeting Sword, Shadow tells him that he has great potential for the martial arts. Though Sword is not sure what to make of her confident and forward ways, Shadow's daughter Cat is very attracted to him.

Hero knows his daughter is alive as a powerful prophet and seer, called Min has confirmed his belief. Though he was told she was still alive he was also told that they shared opposing star charts and should the two meet it would be a dark and very unfortuitous day. He is destined to be alone and childless.

This brings us up to date some sixteen years after the death of his parents.

??????????? Probably because of his disastrous personal life or maybe?because of his Exaltation, Hero has become interested in repairing and building things. Even items he finds from the First Age, he finds curious and fascinating. ?
