Leto
Atreides II is the son of the mystical Paul "Muad'ib" Atreides and the
Freman woman Chani in Frank Herbert's mythic series Dune. He first shows
up in Dune Messiah, but comes to center stage in Children of Dune.
His father
knows that he cannot stop the ji'had that is going on in his name, so he leaves
it for his son, Leto to. Leto wants to restore the chance for all humans to determine
their own destiny. He calls this "The Golden Path."
When his
aunt Alia becomes too powerful, his sister Ghanima and he travel out into the
desert to escape possible assassination and impending danger. While out there,
Leto escapes Ghanima's company so that he can begin his transformation from
human to worm.
He wants
to be a desert creature, and he sees becoming a worm the only way. Once he feels
he has gotten to the necessary point, he comes back to Arakeen, the capital city
of Arrakis. There he fights his aunt Alia, who has become deranged and unstable.
He triumphs over Alia and becomes the new ruler of Arrakis.

nothing can stop what is going to happen.”
Roleplaying Leto
The son of Paul Atreides who being transformed into a worm, became the
absolute ruler for 3500 years, and for this reason is often called The Tyrant or
the God Emperor, depending on how you view him.
