Description: Gatori was an alien fisher who lived a simple and quiet life in the swamps of the planet Nal Hutta during the New Republic Era. During or after 11 ABY, the youngling Din Grogu stole a fish from Gatori's hut in the swamps and later returned for another, only to be swallowed by a frog-like creature. The swamp-dweller then saved Grogu with a slingshot and gave the child another fish.
Grogu then had to hide when the bounty hunter Embo and his anooba Keibu then arrived at the hut searching for the youngling and his father, Din Djarin, on behalf of the Hutt crime lords known as the Twins. Gatori did not reveal Grogu's presence and distracted Keibu when she sniffed around the youngling's hiding place. After Embo left, Gatori revealed that the bounty hunter had mentioned that Djarin had sustained a poisonous dragonsnake bite, and so the fisher made an antidote for Grogu, who left and saved his father.
Biography
Victim of a tiny thief
Gatori was an alien who lived in the swamps of the planet Nal Hutta during the reign of the New Republic. They attempted to live a quiet and simple existence, but their tranquility was sometimes complicated by the dangerous creatures or desperate trespassers found in the marshes. During of after 11 ABY, Gatori was sitting in a rocking chair, fishing in the marshes from an open-fronted riverside hut, when the youngling Din Grogu came across the swamp-dweller. Grogu had recently escaped from the palace of the Hutt crime lords known as the Twins with his father, the Mandalorian Din Djarin, but Djarin had sustained a poisonous dragonsnake bite and fallen unconscious.
Now caring for his father nearby in the swamps, the youngling was seeking food and crept up behind Gatori's hut. The fisher did not appear to notice Grogu's presence, and so he stole one of several fish that Gatori had on a drying rack in the hut. Grogu then fled back to Djarin and ate the fish but was soon hungry again and returned to Gatori's hut for seconds later that night. The fisher was dozing in the rocking chair and so Grogu approached along the riverbank, but before he could reach his prize a frog-like creature emerged from the water and swallowed the youngling whole.
Aid for those in need
Gatori immediately rose from his supposed slumber and fired a projectile at the creature using a slingshot, causing it to spit out Grogu and retreat into the water. The swamp-dweller then summoned Grogu up to the hut and gave him another fish to eat, talking to him about how dangerous the Hutts were as the child ate, unable to respond as he was too young to speak. Gatori then sensed someone approaching and signaled for Grogu to hide, with the child scooting behind some crates with his fish. The bounty hunter Embo and his anooba Keibu then approached Gatori, having been sent to find Djarin and Grogu by the Twins.
The hunter and fisher spoke quietly about Embo's quarry as Grogu continued hiding, but Keibu soon began sniffing around where the youngling was concealed. Gatori then drew the anooba's attention by calling for her to get away from the fish, after which Embo and Keibu left. Once they were gone, Grogu emerged and Gatori revealed that Embo had told him about Djarin's potentially lethal dragonsnake bite. The swamp-dweller then mixed several herb plants into an antidote for the poison, but warned Grogu that it might already be too late to save his father. The youngling then left with the antidote and used it to successfully nurse Djarin back to health.
