capsule: The Incom Arrow was designed to be the best space superiority fighter in the galaxy, and was being designed as the Clone Wars came to an end. According to the pilots who test flew the 30 prototypes, it was the best ship that had ever been made, and flew circles around the Z-95 Headhunters that were the standard then. In testing the Arrow proved to be almost as durable as the Headhunter, and its firepower and sensors were superior, not to mention significantly better speed and manueverability.
The Incom Arrow design was scrapped at an order from Senator Enbakerdeif, who cited their high cost as his reason. All design plans, prototypes, and design models were ordered destroyed, although a full squadron of the prototypes went missing. No explanations were ever given for this aside from the high cost of the project, which in and of itself shouldn't have been enough to order destruction of the plans. This precipitated a fairly large scandal, but no further information was ever
forthcoming. Some have speculated that Enbakerdeif had ulterior motives for cancelling the Arrow project, and guesses range from bribes payed by other starfighter manufacturers to mysterious alien races requesting a favour. The fact of the matter is that nobody has ever come up with anything concrete regarding the cancellation of the program, and since Enbakerdief died of natural causes 3 years later, it is unlikely that anyone will ever know the true reason for the cancellation.
Fairly recently a squadron of fighters matching the description of the Arrow has been fielded by a mercenary group known as the Mad Gundarks. It is unknown how the Gundarks came into possesion of the Arrows, but they have performed well in the engagements in which they have been involved.
Those who know anything about the aerospace industry in Canada will probably figure out what the Incom Arrow is loosely based upon, and those familiar with Canadian political history shouldn't have a hard time figuring out where the name Enbakerdeif comes from ;-)
