Description: Blex was a Neimoidian member of the Trade Federation who served as captain of the WD-2550 Whydah-class yield conveyer Fallon. In 132 BBY, the freighter needed shield generator repairs while in space and the mekneks Verosha Aniseya and Fillik were sent onto the hull to carry out the work. As the repairs took place, Blex complained about how long it was taking and called the mekneks disposable, which Aniseya and Fillik heard over the ship's comms.
A Jedi Vector then docked with the Fallon and the Jedi Yord Fandar and Tasi Lowa approached Blex on the freighter's bridge, informing the captain that they were looking for Aniseya. Blex denied that she was on board as the use of mekneks for outer ship repairs was against Galactic Republic legislature; however, when Fandar prepared to use the Force on the captain, Blex's first officer provided the location of Aniseya's bunk.
Biography
Cruel captain
Blex was a Neimoidian who worked for the Trade Federation during the High Republic Era, serving as captain of the rugged and aging WD-2550 Whydah-class yield conveyer Fallon, which was used as a cargo vessel. In 132 BBY, the freighter required repairs to its shield generators while in space and the job was given to the freelance human mekneks Verosha Aniseya and Fillik, despite Galactic Republic legislation stating that only droids could perform outer ship repairs. As the mekneks worked on the ship's exterior, Blex stood on the bridge and complained about the time the repairs were taking, ordering that the shields be immediately activated.
Blex's first officer then informed him that the mekneks were working on the issue, prompting Blex to call the pair expendable, unlike the ship's precious cargo. However, the mekneks could hear the audio from the bridge through their coms and Aniseya responded over the bridge's speakers that while Fillik was disposable, she was not, causing Blex to groan. The mekneks then carried on with their work as a pressure valve blew, although Aniseya was able to repair it.
The Jedi arrive
As the repair work continued, a Jedi Vector approached the Fallon and circled the ship while Blex and his first officer watched from the bridge, both groaning as they recognised the starfighter as belonging to the Jedi Order. The Vector then docked with the freighter and Jedi Knight Yord Fandar and his Padawan Tasi Lowa disembarked and entered the Fallon's bridge. The captain greeted the pair, but when the Jedi informed the Neimoidians that they sought Aniseya, Blex lied and claimed the vessel had no passengers or mekneks, citing the Republic legislation on outer hull repairs.
Fandar then raised his hand toward the captain to use the Force, causing Blex to begin stammering and prompting the first officer to quickly reveal where Aniseya's bunk was located. The Jedi then departed the bridge and arrested Aniseya, transferring her to the DTE-CSA-17 Calaboose prison ship Palwick, which had also docked with the Fallon.
Personality and traits
Blex disregarded Republic rules and prioritized profits over the lives of his hired hands, considering the mekneks on the Fallon greasy and disposable. He groaned when having to listen to the mekneks and upon seeing the Jedi arrive, pretending to be welcoming and lying to them upon their arrival to hide the Republic legislations he had ignored. Blex had green skin and red eyes. He stood 2.13 meters tall.
Equipment
While on the bridge of the freighter he commanded, Blex wore blue robes with a golden trim and golden frilled epaulettes as well as a tall and broad black hat with golden decorations.
