Description: In a galaxy far, far away, where the Empire outsourced military contracts to the lowest bidder with the flashiest PowerPoint, construction giant Caterpillar saw an opportunity to branch out—from bulldozers to battlefield behemoths.
The AT-CT, or All Terrain Construction Transport, was Caterpillar’s ambitious (and highly questionable) take on the Imperial AT-AT. Designed to haul cargo, blast rebels, and provide a scenic overlook for middle managers, this bright-yellow monstrosity was the Swiss Army knife of poor procurement decisions.
Features included:
- A deluxe viewing platform with reinforced railings and cupholders, perfect for watching constructions from a raised position.
- Cargo capacity increased by 30%, ideal for transporting building materials and the hopes and dreams of underpaid engineers.
- Painted Caterpillar Yellow, because camouflage is for cowards (and Caterpillar branding is forever).
Despite its absurd cost, the Empire ordered three dozen—before realizing the garish color made them the galaxy’s most obvious artillery targets. Rebels dubbed them “Banana Behemoths,” and “That Thing We Can See From Orbit.”
They were discontinued after a single deployment, in which one got stuck in mud, sank halfway, and was then turned into a very expensive gazebo by the Ewoks.
