Porg Casserole

A Recipe for: Porg

Ingredients:

  • 2 Porg breasts (if unavailable substitute chicken breasts)
  • 1 cup of Tatooine desert beans (if unavailable substitute green beans)
  • 1 cup of Alderaanian mushrooms (if unavailable substitute white button mushrooms)
  • 1/2 cup of Kashyyyk root vegetables (if unavailable substitute carrots)
  • 1/2 cup of Endorian potato-like tubers (if unavailable substitute potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup of Hoth snow peas (if unavailable substitute sugar snap peas)
  • 1 cup of Corellian cream (if unavailable substitute heavy cream)
  • 1/2 cup of Naboo cheese (if unavailable substitute cheddar cheese)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of Mustafar red pepper flakes (if unavailable substitute red pepper flakes)
  • 1/4 cup of Coruscant fresh parsley (if unavailable substitute fresh parsley)
  • 2 tablespoons of Alderaan olive oil (if unavailable substitute olive oil)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  2. Begin by preparing the Porg breasts. Remove any feathers and excess skin, then slice them into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large sized pot of boiling water, blanch the Tatooine desert beans for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  4. Heat the Alderaanian olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced Porg pieces to the skillet and cook until they turn a golden brown, about 5 minutes. Season with Mustafar red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste. Remove the cooked Porg from the skillet and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add the Kashyyyk root vegetables, Alderaanian mushrooms, Endorian potato-like tubers, and Hoth snow peas. Sauté the mixture until the vegetables are tender and the mushrooms have released their moisture, about 7-8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. In a separate pot, warm the Corellian cream over low heat. Once it's heated through, stir in the Naboo cheese until it's fully melted, creating a creamy cheese sauce.
  8. Combine the cooked Porg, sautéed vegetables, and Tatooine desert beans in a large casserole dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the top, ensuring it coats all the ingredients evenly.
  9. Bake the casserole in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until it's hot and bubbly with a golden-brown crust.
  10. Remove the Porg Casserole from the oven and garnish it with fresh Coruscant parsley.
  11. Serve this delectable Porg Casserole on your favorite plates, and may the Force be with you as you enjoy this out-of-this-world dish!
