What is it ? : Darth Wyyrlok and Darth Nihil look upon Krayt's empty armor, they cannot sense his presence so Wyyrlok claims that someone has killed him and taken his body. Nihl suggests it might be Darth Talon as she too is missing, Wyyrlok goes to tend to the Empire while Nihl says he will search for Talon. After Nihl leaves, Wyyrlok force lightnings the empty armor, saying that he killed Krayt and asking where he is.
On Agamar Sith are searching for any survivors of the Jedi and Imperial Knights that were meeting on the world when they ambushed them, and come under attack by a Jedi, Rasi Tuum, who rescues a heavily wounded Azlyn Rae, his former student. They agree to try to rescue Marisiah who Azlyn has sworn to protect.
On Corscuant one week later, Moff Yage escorts Princess Marisiah who pleads with him to defect and take her back to her father, but he tells her that any such actions would have consequences for his daughter, so he refuses. They are met by a hooded Sith who tells them that he has orders from Wyyrlok to take and interrogate her.
Yage meets with Nyna Calixte and Regent Veed, who asks him what went wrong, and Yage tells him the Jedi and Fel were warned, so Veed orders Calixte to locate the traitor within their midst.
On the planet Duluuj, Cade is tracking down Vul Isen to kill him for the plague he spread on Dac, having been given this location by Naxy Screeger. Cade defeats a Sith and gets him to tell them that they are too late, Isen has left and taken his research with him. So Cade gets Jariah to set off explosives destroying the facility, trapping and killing the defeated sith within it much to the concern of Wolf Sazen who is accompanying Cade.
A few days later a Star Destroyer of the Krayt Empire arrives above the Hutt world of Da Soocha, Darth Azard and Vul Isen contact Azzim Anjiliac Atirue, and tell him they are here to chrage him with giving Mon Calamari refuge, which he denies. But they bombard his Spa and drop toxins into the oceans of Da Soocha itself.
Transports attempt to flee, and Darth Rauder orders Skull Squadron to destroy them, the pilots complain about attacking unarmed civilian vessels, but follow orders.
Joker Squad is sent to the spa to search for survivors, and likewise are not happy with killing civilians, but follow orders.
On the Mynock, Cade is annoyed that he has failed to find Vul Isen, and argues with a vision of Luke, which disturbs Jariah who cannot see Luke so assumes Cade is taking Death Sticks once more. But they are contacted by Queen Jool, who tells them that she and Vedo Anjiliac Atirue want to meet with them on Nal Hutta as soon as possible.
On Korriban, Darth Nihl tracks Talon, encountering a Tukata which he tames, and we see Talon sensing his presence which she passes on a warninh to a skeletal and deathly Darth Krayt. . . .
High Points : The story continues moving at a great pace, and I can see elements of the fall of the Sith coming, them poisoning Da Soocha, a world considered holy by the Hutts, will surely put the Hutts against the Krayt Empire. Their head of intelligence being the traitor leaking secrets to the Fel Empire, Krayt and Wyyrlok working against each other, and that their best forces are becoming dispirited and disillusioned with the missions they are being given makes things look doomed for the Sith. While they can survive some of these things, with them all coming as they look to be torn into a Civil war, the Sith Empire seems soon to fall.
Low Points : I'm confused as to what's happening with Darth Nihl. He and Darth Maladi spoke about Krayt being presumably dead and Wyyrlok covering it up, so Nihl went to Korriban to discover the truth, finding the empty armor along with Darth Talon.
But now he is searching for Talon seemingly blaming her for removing Krayt's body? Is he just playing along with Wyyrlok, has the offer of power turned him to Wyyrlok's side? While this could be clever storytelling, it just seems confused. But as always I might be proven wrong in future issues.
And I have to ask, 20% of the Mon Calamari were rescued from the plague released by Vul Isen on Dac, and were taken to Da Soocha. Vul Isen then fills the oceans there with toxins, presumably killing everything there, while a few ships attempt to leave but are destroyed by Skull Squadron. Does this mean that there are now only a very few Mon Calamari left? That the 20% itself has been virtually exterminated?
So what do you really think ? : Hey, someone noticed that Calixte was missing for a while, and although she gave an excuse, it'd be nice if this actually led to people suspecting her of being the traitor when she keeps going missing for extended periods when she's being Morrigan Corde.
I enjoyed this issue, it's keeping the story going, and making me want to read the next issue to find out what's going on. However with only 2 issues left, I have serious concerns that many ideas and storylines will just be forgotten and unresolved.
Final Words : So 2 issues to go, and I really can't see everything being finished, so I guess that the War series actually does link into Legacy in a far more satisfying way than Kotor War did into it's series. The Kotor comics had wrapped everything up in a satisfying manner, and then War just was an extra storyline which didn't make a whole load of sense (the main character who is known pretty much on a galaxy level ends up getting conscripted into the army just because he's not a Jedi any more), where I'm guessing Legacy: War will continue the main plot detailing out Cade's war against the Sith, and the war for control of the sith between Wyyrlok and Krayt. But that remains to be seen in the next couple of weeks as I move on to cover it.
