Star Wars: Legacy: 50: Extremes Part Three

What is it ? : The End of an Era, as the cover proclaims.
Antares Draco in disguise as a Sith, leads his "prisoners" Shado Vao and Ganner Krieg through the Sith prisons until they encounter Princess Marisiah recovering from her torture sessions with Darth Havok.
They fight off the guards and free the princess who reacts badly to Draco, as he had told her that he had killed his master Eshkar Niin, who she now knows is Darth Havok. Shado calms the situation, and they decide that the middle of a Sith prison isn't the best place to explain so begin escaping.
Meanwhile on Utapau, Jariah and Deliah are pretending to be dealing weapons to Gar Stasi, with Deliah using her Zeltron wiles to flirt with him, while Jariah keeps an eye open for the assassin that Cade warned them of. He spots one of Stasi's aides pulling a blaster and takes out the assassin, promising to explain to Stasi what is happening, Stasi agrees, but pointedly says that saving his life won't alter the negotiations in their favour.
In Vul Isen's lab he is finally happy that his new virus is dangerous enough to kill all life of Utapau, but Cade and Wolf burst in, with Wolf fighting Darth Azard, while Cade chases Isen who flees with the virus.
On Korriban, Antares, Ganner, Marisiah and Shado have almost reached their ship, but Antares stays behind to allow the others to launch and escape. He faces his old master, now Darth Havok, who tells him that he has always had darkness within him, and more suits the Sith disguise he now wears than he ever did the Imperial Knight Uniform.
Below Korriban, Darth Nihl finally finds and confronts Darth Talon, attacking her to try to take her back for the death of Darth Krayt, but Krayt emerges and forces Nihl to submit to him. He shows him that he has been collecting the most powerful force sensitives from across the galaxy for years and converting them into Sith Troopers, who are completely obedient to him. He shows that they have new fighters capable of breaching the armour of a Star Destroyer and that the galaxy will be his, using the force to announce his return to anyone touched by the Dark Side.
Across the galaxy the Sith sense his return and are filled with joy except for Darth Wyyrlok on Coruscant.
On the surface of Korriban, Antares senses Krayts return, which Havok tells him shows the darkness within him, and he angrily attacks his old master, who zaps him with force lightning, which those fleeing sense, and Shado declares that a good man has fallen.
Cade fights Isen, but is distracted by sensing that Krayt has returned almost allowing Isen to take advantage, but Cades superior skill with the lightsabers they are using, means that Isen sees the only way of succeeding it to leap off the platform they are on, to allow the virus to shatter below and be released.
Sensing that Krayt has returned distracts Darth Azard, allowing Wolf to dispatch him as he senses nothing.
Cade leaps after Isen, grabbing the phial of virus only millimetres above the pool they crash into, the shock of the water gives Cade a vision of Krayt and him fighting, and as he crawls out of the pool he says to himself that he never expected to get old or die in bed, but he's got a job to do, even if it's his last.
And the issue declares, The Beginning of the End. . . .

High Points : The way Krayt declares his return through the force is unexpected, and upsets the balance of everything that is going on in a very interesting way. It's sensed only by those touched by the Dark Side, so openly displays the darkness within Antares Draco, it causes Cade and Darth Azard to both become distracted upsetting the balance of their fights to their disadvantage.

Low Points : But for a final issue, it's not very final at all, with obviously the main plotlines going into Legacy: War to wrap up.
Although obvious written many years before, Krayt showing Nihl the secret army of super soldiers and super starships, reminds me of the fleet of Xyston-class Star Destroyers from Rise of Skywalker. A Sith Emperor so confident in his power and position that he hides his best people and weapons away to use, just in case he ever gets deposed from power and needs to take power a second time. Well maybe you wouldn't lose power if you used all these weapons you've got lying around?
The whole situation with Deliah and Jariah pretending to be weapons dealers, selling cases of custom blaster rifles to the Admiral in charge of the Galactic Alliance fleet. While he's the leader of the Galactic Alliance, so ultimately in charge of which weapons they buy and use, it doesn't seem very realistic to have a couple of total rondo's turn up with some cases of weapons and get to speak to the leader of a galactic power.

So what do you really think ? : The end of the Legacy series is as messy as the rest of the series has been, while they've still got the War series to wrap things up, I still expect them to make more effort to tie some plotlines up in this finale, and they make no attempt to wrap up anything except Vul Isen, a character which had no connection to the main characters at all before a couple of issues ago when Cade just decided to hunt him down, and the rescue of Princess Marisiah, which likewise only occurred a couple of issues ago and only served as a way of making Antares confront his old master, who also hadly been mentioned before a couple of issues ago. The final part of Extreme's ties up the Extreme's plotlines, but in no way deals with any of the Legacy plotlines.

Final Words : So, I'm going to dive straight into Legacy: War to try to find out how Cade's story actually ends.

Score : 8/10

Not sorry to see Antares Draco die. He was an Emperor's yes-man, but I think he did it to gain Daddy's approval so he could date his daughter. So he was willing to do whatever it took to get that, using whatever means available.

If those who sensed the dark side sensed Krayt's return, why didn't we see Roan Fel do the same, given the path he's apparently taking.

Good point about Roan Fel, I'll be interested to see if he did actually feel Krayt's return, but was just intelligent enough to not tell everyone.
