Star Wars: Legacy: War 2

What is it ? : Morlish Veed briefs Darth Krayt of the situation across the galaxy, on how Wyyrloks planetary exterminations have set the galaxy against the Sith, and even former allies are now refusing to co-operate. Krayt asks after Darth Maladi, but is told she is missing, he thinks she would have been excellent at working out who was the spy within the Empire, but tasks Veed with finding out who it is.
Watching remotely, Nyna Calixte realises that Veed with discover it is her sooner or later, so begins making plans to leave.
Around Falleen the Empire has sent a fleet to punish the world for not being co-operative, but it is being protected by the Galactic Alliance fleet including Cade and his crew. Cade and Wolf board the Star Destroyer leading the attack and sabotage it, causing it to explode as they narrowly escape.
On Bastion, Roan Fel watches his forces on Borosk fighting a battle remotely, when Hogrum Chalk his head of intelligence tells him that they have a prisoner, which turns out to be Darth Maladi, she offers him the toxin she has created to kill the Sith, in return for killing Cade Skywalker who she knows has messed with her mind. Fel is unwilling, as using such a weapon will make him like the Sith, but Chalk tries to convince him to consider it, as it might save millions of lives which would be lost in the ongoing conflict.
After the battle, Cade boards the flagship of the Galactic Alliance fleet and speaks with Gar Stazi, they together speak to Vedo Anjiliac Atirue who objects to paying Cade a fortune for killing all the Sith aboard the Star Destroyer, but Stazi speaks up for Cade, and Vedo gives in. Stazi wants to work with Cade, feeding him intelligence and targeting specific Sith, but Cade is now only interested in killing Krayt.
On Coruscant, Veed gets a communication from Chalk who tells him the spy is Nyna Calixte, and Veed meets up with her pretending to celebrate discovering that Konrad Rus is the spy, but as they toast it, she realises the drink is poisoned. They fight and she ends up grabbing a bad and leaping out into the chasm of streets miles below.
Moff Rulf Yage in command of the forces around Borosk receives a communication from Veed telling him that his ex wife, Calixte was the spy and is now dead, and if he discovers that Yage knew, he will be next. But Yage tells him that she was in a relationship with Veed for longer than he was ever married to her. Afterwards, although the relationship was long over, he spends a few moments with his daughter mourning the death of Calixte.
Antares Draco remembers fighting his former master Eshkar Niin as he holds the Queen, Elliah Fel, failing to stop him killing her. In the now, Eshkar Niin, now Darth Havok stands before him apparently holding Princess Marisiah in the same way, telling him that her escape failed and that the others are dead, and he will kill her unless Antares breaks and tells him something of worth. Antares breaks and tells him the location of the Jedi Hidden Temple, before knocking Antares out and informing Darth Talon.
On hearing the news, Krayt tells Talon to go to Cade and tell him that the Sith know the location, and to give him the gift of Antares Draco, as he wants to break Cade and make him serve at his side. . . .

High Points : So perhaps Roan Fel isn't as bad as we assumed, as he apparently has Hogrum Chalk, his brother in law whispering in his ear, telling him that murdering hundreds of thousands is worthwhile if it possibly saves millions, and then betraying the allies who have helped the Fel Empire, as Calixte's warning possibly saved even Fel's own life.
It seems a little obvious, that the disfigured cybernetically augmented guy is evil, in exactly the same way that Haazen (an old friend, disfigured and cybernetically enhanced) was behind Lucien (the leader of the conspiracy which framed Zayne Carrick in Knights of the Old Republic), but it adds some depth to the situation regarding Roan Fel.
And finally Nyna Calixte gets outed as the spy within the Sith, but rather oddly by Hogrum rather than the information that Gunn Yage was given a few issues ago.

Low Points : So, planets are rebelling against the Sith Empire because Wyyrlok ordered that Dac and Da Soocha have all life eliminated from them, which Krayt and Veed recognise as a bad decision. So to force those worlds back into the fold, they order Star Destroyers to perform an orbital bombardment of Falleen? I know the Sith are supposed to be evil, but even they recognise this is a losing tactic, but go on to repeat it.
Also it seems like this is the first time Cade and Gar Stazi have spoken, but we left it last time with Jariah and Deliah sitting with Stazi and Stazi wanting to speak to Cade, but I guess they just didn't have time after eliminating Azard and Isen to speak.

So what do you really think ? : It still seems like it's setting up storyline here, and we've only got 4 more issues to go, Krayt is trying to lure Cade into a trap presumably at the Hidden Temple. Nyna Calixte is on the run, but is her identity as super secret agent Morrigan Corde also known? Could there be some irony in Veed ordering Corde to hunt down Calixte?

Final Words : I'm worried that Legacy seems to be heading to a very conventional ending, with Fel discovering he was manipulated and becoming a much nicer guy as Cade defeats Krayt and the galaxy lives happily ever after. The series just seems in such a rush to wrap things up it's ignoring old storylines, to introduce new characters and ideas to just finish everything up in a tidy way.

Score : 8/10

The Sith have always been short sighted and in the moment, Palpatine and maybe Vitiate and Plaguis were the only ones who ever had any real long-term vision and patience. Thats the price of being fueled by rage and emotion you have to constantly stoke the fires to remain strong and keep the feeling and that leads to further and further acts of cruelty and malevolence and violence
