What is it ? : Darth Talon crawls into Krayt's throne room to warn him of Cades increased abilities, but is thrown across the room as Cade arrives. They ignite their lightsabers and fight, both boasting of the new skills they have learned.
Meanwhile across Coruscant the Sith Troopers in their Dragon and Annihilator vessels fight the combined forces of the Jedi, Fel Empire and Galactic Alliance, Jhoram Bey advises Gar Stazi to retreat, but Stazi tells him that it's all or nothing and they will fight on, as Fel forces find they cannot communicate with Roan Fel.
Roan Fel is preparing to release the toxin that Darth Maladi has made for him, against the advice of Antares Fel, when Princess Marisiah and Treis Sinde arrive and tell him it is a dark side action, he hurls them against a wall using the force. But Antares remembers his oath to keep the Emperor from straying to the Dark Side, and ignites his lightsaber and fights Fel.
The fight between Cade and Krayt takes a turn when Krayt uses the healing powers that Cade manifested and exploits the cracks he sees within Cade showing him as a fallen version crawling on the floor at the beck and call of Krayt as his master, telling him that even if he managed to kill Krayt he would live on inside Cade. But Cade is sure of who he is, and grabs his lightsaber, stabbing Krayt and killing him.
Antares and Fel continue to fight, but the ripple through the force of the death of Krayt distracts Fel and gives Antares a moment of hope, allowing him to stab Fel with his lightsaber killing him.
The Sith sense the loss of Krayt and the Sith Troopers programmed to obey him and only him become uncontrolled, so the Sith begin killing them as they withdraw from Coruscant.
Morrigan Corde locates Cade standing over Krayt's body, but Cade tells him he can still hear Krayt's voice in his mind, that he will live again, so borrows Corde's ship to take the pair of them into Coruscants Sun, destroying both Krayt's body and his mind within Cade. Saying goodbye she gives him the hologram of her, him and his father, telling him that she loves him.
Fighting her way through the chaos of the city she communicates with Jariah and Deliah, telling them Cade's plan, so they attempt to repair the Mynock so they can save him.
As Cade appoaches the star he sees Luke, and they debate whether Krayt's voice in Cade's mind is really Krayt, but also whether Luke is also just an aspect of Cade. Cade suits up and leaves the ship as it plunges into the star, and he realises he cannot hear Krayt's voice any more as the ship burns up, and Cade finds himself floating alone in space as he was when the series began.
Afterwards, the three allied forces declare a new alliance, the Galactic Federation Triumvirate, with Princess Marisiah at it's head. As she watches, Morrigan is approached by Shado Vao who asks after Cade, and she tells him of Cades plan.
Around the star, Deliah and Jariah recover Cade's body, lifeless, and Deliah kisses him sadly.
Across the galaxy, the Sith hide their fleet and begin a new campaign, hiding within the governments of planets to corrupt them from within, as the Sith will prevail.
Aboard the Mynock, Cade sudden awakens, telling them he put himself into a Jedi Hibernation Trance, and that finally Cade is free of Krayt and of his destiny as a Skywalker, and the three wonder where they will go next. . . . .
High Points : So it wraps everything up fairly nicely, we see Roan Fel taken down by his own Imperial Knights, following the rules there were founded to obey, and fulfilling their destiny to take down the Emperor if he should slip towards the Dark Side.
Cade fulfils his destiny and is able to take his future in his own hands, although I can't think but he'll get recognised pretty quickly.
Low Points : The ending is just a little neat, with the Sith Troopers suiciding themselves at the death of Krayt, so removing themselves as a threat to the galaxy. And the other Sith just go away, even though just weeks before they were dominating the entire galaxy, and that around Coruscant and the Hidden Jedi Temple the Jedi, Galactic Alliance and Fel Empire have taken a beating losing many ships, so the remains of the Krayt Empire are the major military force in the Galaxy, even given some defected to the Fel Empire. So the idea of them just going into hiding seems really weak of them.
So what do you really think ? : An actual ending to the Legacy series, we've got an ending to Cade story without removing all possibility of continuing stories at some other point. Cade gets to live happily ever after, Krayt is defeated, and a better figure is on the throne of the galaxy. While not returned to the democracy of the Republic, we at least seem to be ending with things in a far better position than we started.
Final Words : I've found a number of things very odd about the Legacy series, so many thinks which seemed so important at the beginning fell away, Joker Squad I really thought were going to have a better storyline. Princess Marisiah I thought was going to be more key to the story rather than just becoming a background character. Darth Talon I thought was going to be a more personal enemy for Cade, rather than just being a flunky (towards the end of Legacy she becomes a door guard for Krayt's healing chamber). And while Cade and Morrigan Corde come to a happy place in their relationship as Mother and Son, I thought she would become more of a teaching figure to him, helping him achieve his destiny (or would that have been too close to the Gryph and Zayne relationship in KotoR?).
I really thought that the pirate, fallen Jedi version of Cade at the start of the series, would gain a number of mentors, Morrigan, Marisiah, and Luke, who would teach him tricks, diplomacy and the Force, to make him a more rounded heroic character, but he ends the series not that different to how he started it, the character growth is minimal.
