What is it ? : Ania recovers and tends to Sauk and AG-37, realising that Jao Assam has been blasted into space and it is all down to her, but she feels that she cannot do anything. AG-37 tells her that her ancestor Han Solo did incredible things even though he was just a Smuggler, but he did it because it was the right thing to do and because his friends needed him.
Meanwhile aboard the communications array the governor tries to shut it down, but finds it is being remotely controlled.
Ania launches in Jao's starfighter and goes to the dark planet where Yalta Val was captured.
On the surface Yalta Val has his helmet removed, freeing him as Ania locates the starship that the fake Yalta Val took down to the surface. On the communications array they realise they are broadcasting to the galaxy, but they don't recognise who is in the hologram being sent out, even though it is the real Yalta Val.
The fake Yalta Val speaks to the galaxy, telling them that while they feel safe with the Sith defeated, they should not, the Empress has no real power and even the Imperial Knights can be fooled and captured like Yalta Val has been. He declares his name to be Darth Wredd, just as Ania leaps out at him and fires her blaster, but he easily uses the force to defeat her. But her attack was a ruse to get the lightsaber back to it's owner, and Yalta Val frees himself and grabs it to attack Wredd.
On the array they realise that it's about to crash into the dark planet, and begin to evacuate, and seeing this on a screen Ania races back her fighter to rescue her friends before it crashes, she drags Sauk and AG-37 about AG-37's ship and they escape moments before the array crashes.
On the surface Wredd and Yalta Val fight, with Val overpowering Wredd, telling him the One Sith won't be returning, which Wredd agrees with, saying he intends to be the only Sith, and escapes aboard a starship.
The Array crashes, and Ania locates Jao Assam's body floating in space, being kept alive by the communications droid. They discuss why a droid might have gone to all this effort to save Jao, with AG-37 suggesting that because he came to rescue it and Yalta Val it felt some gratitude towards him.
Ania apologises to Sauk for getting him into this and endangering his life, but he tells her that she saved them all
Meanwhile sometime later on Coruscant, Marisiah Fel receives a report on what happened and Ania Solo's involvement, and declares "Who the hell is Ania Solo?" . . .
High Points : Although this series doesn't seem to be spilt into titled story arcs, the compilations seem to split them into 5 issue groups which each seem to come to a conclusion, so this is the end of "Prisoner of the Floating World". And I'm pretty darn impressed by how this wraps up this first arc, we're left with Wredd on the run, and while his reasons are mysterious, he has a clear plan, to bring back the Sith, but not the One Sith, to go back to the Rule of Two. And while Sauk, Jao Assam and AG-37 are all out of action this issue, that allows Ania to come to the fore, showing off her heroism and ability to come up with plans quickly and intuitively. She knows that she can't beat Wredd, but attacks him nevertheless so she can get Yalta Val's lightsaber back to him, knowing that a Imperial Knight Master is far more capable of fighting a Sith than she is.
Low Points : While the action is great, AG-37 gets his moment inspiring Ania by telling her of Han Solo (as if he knows more about her ancestor than she does), and we get Yalta Val being a hero to fight Darth Wredd. But the story just drags at the end, while I really like the moment between Ania and Sauk as she apologises for getting him into all of this, but he is thankful for her rescuing him, knowing all the decisions were his own and while he followed her, it was of his own free will. This reinforces the relationship between the two as friends, but did we need the rescue of Jao Assam, followed by a discussion of why a droid might rescue him, then the scene with Ania and Sauk, and then a final scene with Marisiah exclaiming that she doesn't know who a distant relative and scrapyard owner from across the galaxy is (duh!).
So what do you really think ? : A nice ending to this arc, with loads of set up for the rest of the series. We're left with Wredd as an ongoing threat surrounded by a mystery. Even if I do feel that the scenes on Coruscant are totally extraneous and not connected with the main plot.
I also have to wonder, why is Wredd so focused on the Imperial Knights and not the Jedi. The Jedi were in hiding, but have they really ended up being so forgotten after helping take down Krayt, and becoming one third of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate?
Final Words : But the series actually kind of wraps up Ania's involvement in it. So it'll be interesting to see how they get her back involved, but more than that I'm interested in what she does next, after being involved in defeating a Sith Lord, does she go back to running her scrapyard? I'm definitely invested into the series and knowing what happens next.
