What is it ? : On Coruscant Yalta Val is looking through records, and discovers evidence of a Cybernetic Hand, so checks Ania's medical records.
Meanwhile, Jao, Sauk and AG-37 have found the crashed ship, but there's no sign of Ania, but a missing Speeder Bike. It begins raining, and the rain is sharp pieces of glass, one of which cuts Sauk, so Sauk and Jao retreat inside the ship while AG-37 continues the search for Ania.
Meanwhile elsewhere on the planet, Ania and Ramid are sheltering from the rain underneath the speeder bike, they ponder the laser whip the bounty hunter uses being similar to those used at the prison camp, and decide to head to a settlement to send a distress call as soon as the storm ends. They discuss that Ania left Ramid behind, she claimed to have thought he was dead as she saw him shot and his body dragged away, he tells her they kept him alive in the prison camp to torture him to find out where she was, and she apologises for leaving him behind.
They spot some of the giant beetles which apparently eat the glass rain and are tough enough to ignore it's effects, so they push their speeder bike beneath one and use it to shelter from the storm.
On AG-37's ship, Sauk and Jao receive a message from Yalta Val, he tells them the murder Ania was accused of was done by someone with a prosthetic hand, and Ania's medical records from when they were scanned aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer shows she doesn't have one.
The storm clears and Ania and Ramid head for the settlement, and are spotted by AG-37 who lets Jao and Sauk know the location to come to in the ship. At the settlement they find it abandoned, but Ramid discovers it is already sending a distress call as Ania finds the settlers all murdered and hidden in a storeroom, when she is attacked by the bounty hunter.
Ramid comes to her aid, slashing at the bounty hunter and revealing that the hunter has a cybernetic hand, just as she throttles and kills him. Sauk drops Jao off at the settlement, but has to take the ship up above the clouds as another storm is coming in, this time an acid one which will damage the ship.
Jao find the bounty hunter and Ania, and disarms the hunter, smashing a window and telling Ania to run, which she does as the sky begins raining acid and she pulls up her hood to offer some shelter from it's effects. . . .
High Points : While there's a bunch of exposition, especially dealing with the relationship between Ania and Ramid, who then dies making it a little pointless, there's a decent amount of progression in the story as we discover more about the hunter seeking Ania. She apparently uses technology from the prison camp, and is seemingly the one behind the murder of the Imperial Knight, while the conditions on the planet also ramp up the tension as the weather gets worse and more dangerous throughout the issue.
Low Points : So, the bounty hunter is apparently the murderer of the Imperial Knight that Ania is accused of killing, so presumably is trying to put the blame of the murder onto Ania to avoid being punished for it. But was also a guard at the prison camp where Ania and Ramid were held, where Ramid was tortured by the Sith. So she was a prison guard at a Sith Prison Camp? Seems to me that she's probably wanted for more crimes than just a simple murder? So she's covering up a murder, while probably wanted for war time atrocities.
So what do you really think ? : A nice issue, moving things forward, and while I'm not sure how this unarmed bounty hunter / ex-prison guard will deal with an armed Imperial Knight, but she's apparently killed one before so it probably capable of it, there's lots of action and it's nice to see Jao finally onboard with Ania having not killed an Imperial Knight even though he's aware she really isn't capable of it.
Final Words : I haven't really commented on it, but with us on issue 14 of 18, I really can't see this series heading towards it's ending, making me worried the series was cancelled and will just abruptly end without a serious resolution. But that said, the story arcs have been 5 issues long so far, so we should be wrapping this one up next issue, and then have 3 issues to conclude the Legacy era completely (although that in itself seems odd, as why 3 arc's of 5, followed by a final one of only 3?).
