What is it ? : After Jao's arrest, Ania demands to see Marisiah Fel, but Antares Draco stops her, telling her that no matter what mistakes might have been made in her arrest, Jao's case is straight forward, he deserted so the sentence is death.
Meanwhile alarms go off in the prison, and Jao is gone from his cell, whisked away in a starship.
Ania returns to the ship, and tells Sauk and AG-37 that she couldn't see Marisiah, revealing to Sauk she is related to the Empress, when AG-37 receives the news that Jao has broken out of the prison and is missing. Stormtroopers arrive and disarm them, taking Ania to the Empress, who tells her that as Empress she needs to apply the law without favour, but as an Imperial Knight she wants to help her fellow Knight, so she can't officially act, but can help Ania act, offering that if she returns Jao to Coruscant she'll find a way of dropping the Death Sentence, providing her with a squad of Trandoshan Stormtroopers to help.
Meanwhile Jao is Darth Wredd's prisoner, and Wredd tells him how he grew up with the legends of the Jedi, so became defender of his planet with only a crude metal sword instead of a lightsaber. But when the Sith came, his sword failed him, and he was taken as the last survivor of the planet when the One Sith tested bioweapons and killed everyone there, blasting the planet from it's orbit.
That he was put in a helmet to ensure compliance, and trained as a Sith Apprentice, but when his master faced Yalta Val he took the opportunity to strike him down and begin his own plan to destabilise the new government. He shows Jao the remains of his old sword, throwing it aside as he leaves.
Jao uses the force to move the piece of sword to deactivate the energy field keeping him in the prison cell, getting to the ships cockpit and sending out a distress call, before realising where he is from Wredd's story.
Ania and her friends are in space in AG-37's ship when they receive Jao's signal, but it's location shows only empty space, but there might be a ship or unmarked station so they warn their passengers that they might have to be ready for action, and as they arrive they discover the Dark Planet they encountered in the Carreras system. . .

High Points : A squad of Trandoshan Stormtroopers, I really like this, that the Fel Empire not being the racist (speciesist?) Galactic Empire has recruited other races, and Trandoshans are pretty powerful warriors, so there's a crack squad of Trandoshan Stormtroopers. Nice.
The story is moving along nicely, although Wredd does spend a significant time bringing us up to date with his story, he was a good guy, so hates the Sith, but was trained by them.
And it all comes full circle, returning to the Dark World they rescued Yalta Val from at the beginning of the story, where he crashed in the very first issue.

Low Points : But I have to question the Dark Planet. While a planet wandering away from a star is acceptable to me, even though the energy to move it's orbit would probably break it apart. But it just happened to be right next to Yalta Val's path in the first issue? And now, probably less than a year later it isn't still in the Carreras system? In a year our own planet doesn't travel far enough to leave a star system, so this dark planet must be really motoring it's way around the galaxy, but no one thought to keep track of this pretty major hazard to navigation, even though the people of the Carreras system were very aware of it's existence as their communications array was crashed onto it and it's crew evacuated in it's orbit.

So what do you really think ? : A solid issue, and it's putting my doubts away as it all seems to be tying the storyline up in a fairly neat fashion. Ania's relation to Marisiah has paid off in her being offered resources to rescue Jao and defeat Wredd, they've come back to where the series began, and we've had the bad guy's defining backstory, which will tie into how he eventually gets defeated.

Final Words : And it's all coming together, the heroes and Darth Wredd are on the world where this all started, so the end is in sight, and with only 2 more issues to go it's just a matter of how everything will play out.

Score : 9/10
