Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: Season 2: Story 27: Home Sweet Temple

What is it ? : Kai is in the library at the Jedi Temple on Tenoo watching a hologram of a Jedi Master, so he decides to copy the moves the master is displaying. However he knocks some shelves causing a massive pile of books to fall on the floor. Master Zanna comes in, and Kai promises to tidy up his mess, Zanna complements him for tidying after himself and keeping their home tidy even though it means he'll miss a trip the rest of the Jedi are going on.
Meanwhile elsewhere, Ace Kallisto is sneaking into Bulcha the Hutts camp to retrieve a droid he has stolen from her, she manages but is caught and Bulcha wants the droid as it can pick almost any lock. She flees to her ship with the droid, but as they fly away the ship is damaged with Bulcha in pursuit so she jumps to hyperspace and goes to Tenoo to the Jedi Temple.
Kai meets with her after she lands, but Bulcha's ship also arrives, deploying Bulcha and some droids. Kai tries to send a distress call to Master Zanna, but isn't sure if it gets through as Bulcha is jamming communications.
Ace and Kai lead the droids on a chase through the Temple, as they attempt to hide from them, but Kai comes up with a plan. So they lure them to the Library, and they cause the books to fall on Bulcha trapping him as Master Zanna arrives catching him.
Kai apologises for the mess in the Temple, but Zanna tells him that while home is important, the people in it are more important. . . .

High Points : After a bunch of episodes which have focused on the group, or on other characters more than the Young Jedi themselves, we get one about Kai, and it feels comfortable for that. He's got a pre-existing relationship with Ace Callisto, a friend of his Master, Zia Zaldor Zanna, so the two working together really works as a story.

Low Points : Although it seems a little odd that Bulcha would attempt to raid a Jedi Temple just to get a droid, no matter how skilled. He has no idea when he arrives that the Temple is only manner by a single Youngling, for all he knows there is a Jedi Master there, in fact for all he knows Yoda or other Masters might be visiting.

So what do you really think ? : A decent episode, with some moments of tension as Bulcha searches the Temple for Ace and Kai, as they hide from him. While as a show for preteen kids, it's never going to be filled with danger and threats of death, the threat of them getting caught is high enough and carries the story.

Final Words : And the message of this episode is the specifically stated, "while home is important, the people in it are more important."

Score : 8/10
