What is it ? : Kai is in bed when Lys and Nubs arrive, but Kai is down having had nightmares of pirates, so he just wants a quiet day, but Lys talks him into going to the spaceport to watch starships, so they set off.
At the spaceport he's still down, but Lys spots a droid struggling with a crate, and tells him that helping people always cheers him up, so they offer to help move the crates.
However they make a mistake and load one of the crates onto a ship which then leaves, destined for Garrum Tower.
They get Nash to take them there to retrieve the lost cargo crate, and put on disguises to sneak in, but are instantly recognised by a friend of Kais, Hudi. She tells them the cargo is all guarded, but she offers to help sneak them in, by hiding them in another crate and getting it stored in the same place.
She pushes it in, flirting with the Gamorrean Guard to let them find the crate, but after she leaves they are spotted by the Ganguls. Kai calls in Nash to retrieve the crate, but before she arrives they get disarmed and tied up. By working together they manage to sever the ties, and help Nash get the container, fighting off the Ganguls until they can leap aboard the Crimson Firehawk and escape.
They return the cargo to the droid, and Lys apologises to Kai, she was trying to make him happy but not listening to him, so they return to the Temple, and sit reading books quietly together, as Kai had desired all along. . . .
High Points : While the story is fine, and it shows off the spaceport, one of the best looking sets in the show, but my favourite moments are Nub's being cute. His droid disguise as they're sneaking into Garrum Tower is brilliant. And when their tied together and have to move, Lys and Kai stand up, leaving Nubs feet dangling in mid air as they carry him, which made me laugh.
Low Points : I have to say though, Nubs usually just wears a cape and tabard, covering his front and back, but at the beginning and end of this episode we can see he wears pyjama trousers to go to bed, he actually wears more clothing in bed.
And more than that, when the Young Jedi are sneaking into the storage area inside a cargo crate, the episode makes a point of Nubs bare foot pressing against Kai's face, to show the humiliation that Kai is going through, when really all he wanted was to stay home and read a book. But when we see them on the bed reading later, we can see that Nub's feet are covered, either by footy pyjamas, or by slippers. So he walks around bare foot all day, but wears foot coverings to go to bed.
I know I'm making a lot of this, but it's a common animated show trope, pantless characters getting dressed to go to bed.
So what do you really think ? : I liked this one, the cute moments with Nubs raised my opinion of a fairly routine episode, where the Ganguls are such a big threat, but are beaten yet again. It was nice to see the Ganguls using the same tactics as they used in their very first appearance, the magnetic gun grabbing the lightsabers from the Young Jedi's hands. It's worked before, so why not use it again.
Final Words : And the moral of this one seems to be, listen to people. Kai expresses a desire to stay home and read, but to cheer him up they don't listen to him and everything spirals from there.
