Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: Season 2: Story 40: A MIssion to Remember

What is it ? : The Young Jedi are in Kublop Springs having just visited Haps Sap Shack, when they spot a droid rushing which they thing might need help, but it stumbles and gets a drink poured on it, causing it to malfunction.
When they reach it, it's memory isn't working and it can't remember where it was going, or who owns it, but suddenly Emmett, the thief that took the Temples Dunnels a few episodes ago arrives wanting to grab the droid. The Young Jedi leap aboard their speeder bikes and race off into the country, although Lys thinks they should remain in the town, they lead Emmett through the streets where he collides with another speeder allowing them to escape.
He summons his other gang members to help, and the Young Jedi stop in a clearing to try to work out who the droid is, and it identifies itself as MB-4, and tells them that it can only remember that it's home is near a tree with 3 waterfalls, somewhere Nubs recognises, but can't remember the direction to.
Nubs decides to climb a tree, something that Kai doesn't think is a good idea, but follows when Lys joins Nubs, but they disturb some birds.
Emmett and his friends see the birds and realise that it must be the Young Jedi, and arrive and climb the tree as Nubs spots the tree with the three waterfalls in the distance.
Kai urges the other Jedi to hold back and work together, but Nubs and then Lys race forward to deal with Emmett and his friends, only to be restrained by a bola gun he is wielding. This leaves Kai alone who is also trapped, allowing Emmett to grab MB-4 after mocking the Young Jedi for their lack of teamwork.
As he leaves, Kai questions why they're not working together, so Lys manages to slip her arm out, which she uses to free Nubs, who frees the other two.
They manage to cut off Emmett and his gang, leading to a chase, but Emmett's gang manages to block Kai getting to MB-4, and only by Lys and Nubs distracting them does he manage to rescue the droid and cause the gang to crash into a river.
They return the droid to it's owner, a miner called Freet Chaddio, who thanks them and promises to repair MB-4, and the Young Jedi ask for a tour of one of his mines, which he leads them off to see. . . .

High Points : A bit of a nonsense little episode, where Emmett's only goal is to get the droid because it knows where the mines are. It's fun while it lasts, and I did find some of the scenery to be very pretty, with a lake and waterfalls which are nice to look at.

Low Points : So Emmett and his gang want to raid one of these hidden mines which MB-4 knows the location of, which presumably they'll need to mine to gain access to the resources within. And this one mine will make the three of them rich. And Freet Chaddio has found multiple of these mines. And this isn't a problem that Freet is insanely rich and isn't spreading that around by employing people to work in the mines, or by employing security for those mines, or even my buying droids to work in those mines. It's bad that Emmett and his gang want to become rich, and good that Freet remains insanely rich. Got it.
The chase scenes are all made somewhat ridiculous by the fact that all the speeder bikes have very visible blaster cannons mounted on them, but no one uses them, instead all just crashing their bikes into one another.

So what do you really think ? : As I said, it's a bit of a nonsense episode, where we discover weird things, such as the trees of Tenoo are solid, with multiple people able to hold a full on fight on the leaves on the top. And in fact a large lake to form on one, large enough for three massive waterfalls to constantly run off it's edge. It's a pretty episode, but doesn't hold the attention particular well.

Final Words : And the moral of this episode is, work together as a team and listen to each others ideas.

Score : 7/10
