Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: Raid on the Archive
What is it ? : Having gained a Compass from Dagan Gera, Cal takes it back to Eno Cordova at the Archive on Jedha. The crew of the Stinger Mantis celebrate Cal's success, and afterwards Merrin and Cal share a close moment.
The next morning, Cordova's repairs are complete, but the Archive comes under attack by the Empire who have managed somehow to locate it, when Bode Akuna takes the Compass and kills Eno Cordova before fleeing. Cal pursues Bode, leading to a speeder bike chase across Jedha.
Cal catches up with Bode, who warns him he should return to the Archive as something terrible is coming for his found family, but Cal is too angry and attacks him. Bode reveals that he is a Jedi, using Dagan Gera's lightsaber against Cal and surprising him with a force push which gives him time to escape.
Cere Junda and Merrin defend the Archive against hordes of Stormtroopers, and Cere sends Merrin to protect the Stinger Mantis, Cere discovers the Archive in flames but retrieves the codes for the Hidden path from a console and gives them to BD-1. However she is confronted by Darth Vader who wants revenge for her actions in the Inquisitors headquarters in Fallen Order. Cere comes close to defeating Vader, but he strikes her down with a lethal blow.
Later Cal discovers and recovers Cere and Cordova's bodies, swearing to continue their work by protecting the Hidden path, and the group realises that Bode has a tracker, and they locate him as having travelled to the Nova Garon system.
High Points : From time to time Jedi Survivor throws a mini game at you, and this is one of those times, as Cal and Bode engage in a speeder bike chase and battle across the surface of Jedha. And it's pretty darn enjoyable, not a straight racing game, but an almost on rails speeder bike fight, but it gives the illusion you're in control and fighting to defeat this traitor.
You also get to switch characters while Cal is out of it when Bode knocks him down and escapes, and Cal has to travel on foot back to the Archive.
Low Points : And we get the massive reveal, Bode has been a Jedi all along and is a traitor who calls in the Empire to attack the Archive, as well as killing Eno Cordova personally and leading Vader to killing Cere Junda.
Now while I thought Bode was a traitor from the very first level, when he said he was only against the Empire for money, so the surprise that he's a Jedi did actually surprise me. And while Eno Cordova dying to show that Bode is a bad guy made sense, it was a surprise that Cere Junda died as well. However both had been background characters throughout Jedi Survivor so it's not really that impactful.
And there's so many Jedi surviving Order 66, Cordova, Cal, Cere and now Bode, who we'll discover wasn't a Padawan, but a full Jedi secret agent.
So what do you really think ? : It's a decent enough level, telling it's story through introducing different types of game style, throwing us from storytelling cut scenes, to fighting our way after Bode, to the speeder bike chase, to playing Cere as she fights against the Imperial Attack and fights Vader, before going back to a cutscene setting up the final few levels. So there's a lot of storytelling going on, and a fair amount of variety to the level.
Final Words : So we're now onto the final block of missions, Cal wants revenge on Bode, and also wants the Compass to lead him to Tanalorr so he can hide the Hidden Path there from the Empire to fulfil his oath to protect them after Cere and Cordova die.
