Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: Season 1: Story 22: Bad Eggs

What is it ? : Hap, the owner of Hap's Sap Tap has a friend visiting soon, and he wants to prepare a special recipe, his friends favourite in celebration. The Young Jedi help him unload ingredients, as Hap is nervous about disappointing his friend.
As they unload, they notice one of the eggs has hatched and a small creature is causing chaos in the kitchen, but after they capture it, they notice all the other eggs have hatched as well. The creatures cause problems throughout the Sap Tap, and chase customers out, who are obviously bothered by small rodents having the run of the place. The chaos causes Hap's recipe to go wrong, as he makes mistakes in the preparation.
But they decide that the creatures are just hungry, and deserve a good feed, so offer them some of the food Hap has prepared, which they love and fall asleep satiated.
Hap's friend, Geeli, arrives, and Hap hopes he likes what he's prepared but is sorry that it isn't his favourite. Geeli tells him he didn't come for the food, he came to see his friend, but when he tries the food he absolutely loves it, which makes Hap happy as he has prepared a lot of it, so he offers it to everyone.

High Points : This one doesn't have much to offer at all, with the message I think being that animals have as many rights as people, or perhaps that friends are friends no matter what and you don't have to worry about doing things for them.

Low Points : So, Hap decides that the rodents are okay and he's fine about them eating out of his kitchen. I wonder if his customers will be equally fine with his rat infested kitchens?

So what do you really think ? : This is the least "Star Wars" and most "kid" episode yet, rodents infest a kitchen, but don't be mean to them as they're lovable animals really. This storyline would fit into any kids show without any real changes, you could definitely see the same happening in Fireman Sam or Bob the Builder.

Final Words : I'm really struggling to say anything about this episode, as there's not even a resolution where they get the animals to go somewhere else to live. Perhaps they're just skipping the part where Hap puts down traps to eliminate them so he can pass his next hygiene inspection.

Score : 7/10
