Description: Carlac was a peaceful, snow-covered planet in the Outer Rim Territories. A town inhabited by members of the Ming Po culture existed on the planet during the Clone Wars. However, that village was burned to the ground by Death Watch, a radical Mandalorian terrorist group.

History
High Republic Era
Carlac was the site of a battle of Operation: Counterstrike during the conflict between the Galactic Republic and Nihil in 231 BBY. A number of Nihil marauders were captured on Carlac and then questioned, and they revealed to the Jedi that the Nihil were divided into three Tempests and led by Tempest Runners, individuals who wielded a great deal of autonomy within the organization. The responses also made the Republic and Jedi more certain of the false belief that Lourna Dee was the Eye of the Nihil.

In 132 BBY, the Republic prison transport Palwick crashed on Carlac after its occupants deactivated the ship's pilot droids and stole its escape pods. The only remaining prisoner was Osha Aniseya, a meknek and former Padawan accused of murdering a Jedi Master. While on Carlac, she experienced a vision of her twin sister, Mae, who confessed that she was responsible for the Jedi's death. Osha shared this information when she was soon after confronted on a rocky cliff by Jedi investigators. Their leader, Master Sol, believed Aniseya's story and allowed her to freely come aboard their Polan-717 Jedi transport.

The Clone Wars
During the Clone Wars between the Republic and the secessionist Confederacy of Independent Systems, Carlac was home to a camp belonging to the Mandalorian terrorist faction Death Watch. In the year 20 BBY, the Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano traveled to Carlac with her friend Lux Bonteri, who secretly planned to join Death Watch in an attempt to get revenge on Count Dooku for the death of his mother. Upon being taken to the Death Watch camp, Bonteri and Tano discovered Ming Po slaves working for Death Watch. A celebration was interrupted by Pieter, Chieftain of the nearby Ming Po Town, who demanded Death Watch return the women they had taken as slaves. Pre Vizsla, leader of Death Watch, agreed.

When Death Watch arrived at the town, Vizsla killed Pieter's granddaughter in front of him and ordered his soldiers to burn the village down. Tano revealed herself to be a Jedi, attempting to defend the village, but she was ultimately captured. Bonteri became aware of the terrorist nature of Death Watch when Tano's execution was ordered for her supposed crimes against Mandalore. The two were rescued by R2-D2, however, and escaped aboard the Phoenix.

Galactic Civil War
During the Galactic Civil War following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Force spirit of the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi told his apprentice Luke Skywalker the fate of Carlac, and many other planets, would rely on him confronting the Sith Lord Darth Vader in the Battle of Endor.

Death Watch's occupation of Carlac was mentioned in "Mandalorians Through the Ages," a publication by the historian Eloc Throno.

Places of Interest
Ming Po Town
Ming Po Town, also known as Ming Po village was a small town that was the home of the Ming Po on the planet Carlac. A number of buildings in the town were burned and destroyed by Death Watch forces commanded by Pre Vizsla.

Carlac Death Watch camp
The Carlac Death Watch camp was erected by the Mandalorian splinter group Death Watch on the planet Carlac. During the Clone Wars, Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla met with Lux Bonteri, who came to Carlac with the Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, to discuss Bonteri's plan for revenge on Count Dooku, who had murdered Bonteri's mother Mina. However, after witnessing the atrocities committed by the Death Watch against the native Ming Po, Tano revealed herself and fought Vizsla, eventually escaping with Bonteri.
