Description: Although Mon Calimari vessels have always served the Republic with destinction, they were never designed as vessels of war, so as these vessels suffered through the rigors of battle, the Calimari people resigned themselves to building a warship. The Mon Calimari MC-99 Destroyer is one of the first Mon Calimari vessels designed and built directly for war, with many powerful weapons, as well as a tough hull and strong shields, the MC-99 is smaller but very nearly a match for a Star Destroyer in one on one combat. Although popular with New Republic command, it is not a popular vessel with crews used to serving on other Mon Calimari vessels, since the staterooms and entertainment facilities left aboard the Mon Cal ships from their days as liners have always made their crew very comfortable, however the MC-99 comes with none of these luxuries.
