Shofixti

The Shofixti possess a quality noticeably lacking in much of the galaxy in
recent years: bravery. This primitive species of marsupial fox like creatures
were raised and breed by an unknown alien race, perhaps once inhabiting their
homeworld with them. Unfortunately, their homeworld was destroyed when the
Shofixti became over excited when defending their star system against an
Imperial Star Destroyer and somehow triggered a chain reaction in the star
which set off a super nova taking out not only the Star Destroyer but also
their homeworld and most of their small fleet. Only thirteen of their scout
ships escaped destruction. Those survivors have begun reproducing (each
mating pair can produce an average of ten baby Shofixti per litter) and
populating various colonies.
