Description: Wini Eres was a female Namara who resided on the planet Koboh.
Biography
An interior designer from Coruscant, the female Namara Wini Eres eventually left Coruscant for the Outer Rim Territories. In 9 BBY, she got stuck in the Viscid Bog on the planet Koboh, after having her datapad containing her designs stolen by local wildlife. There, she met the human woman Zygg Soza, who had set out to rescue the High Republic Era droid ZN-A4 from the Bedlam Raiders. Jedi Knight Cal Kestis was also searching for the droid and encountered Eres in a homestead in the Bog.
Eres asked Kestis if he would help retrieve her datapad, to which he agreed. Eres told Kestis that he 'shines like the stars', which was a Coruscant saying for thank you. Soza decided to stay with her, to make sure Wini was safe. Knowing Soza was a lifetime local, Eres asked whether Koboh had newer technology such as datapads, but Soza assured her she would find her one if Kestis could not. Eres was thankful despite the sentimental value attached to her datapad which contained all her designs and her reference databank which would mean starting from scratch if it was lost.
After Kestis told them that Ere's datapad was broken beyond repair, Soza said she'd try to scrounge something up at Rambler's Reach Outpost, and the pair decided to head to Pyloon's Saloon for a drink. Eres found the saloon to be adorably derelict and entirely unique, noting that had the establishment been on Coruscant, the prices would be quadrupled and there would still be lines out the door.
Subsequently, the two started to fix up the Outpost together using reclaimed Koboh technology. Eres thought the Outpost was quaint but could use a lick of paint and Soza completed all of the wiring tasks in the area. Soza believed the pair's skills paired perfectly together, a point that Eres agreed with. Eres eventually wanted to renovate more than just a water pump and began seeking inspiration. Eres was drawn by the colors of Koboh. She used to adore Coruscant, but she found the neon to be too harsh on her eyes eventually. Her experiences on Koboh made her realize that none of the opulence she experienced in life mattered. Back on Coruscant, others constructed her designs, but on Koboh she got stuck in and enjoyed it far more. She was fascinated that Soza was a local and wanted to hear all her stories. Not long after, they developed romantic feelings for one another. Eres suggested to Soza that they leave the planet and visit Coruscant together. Soza admitted that she would love to see the ecumenopolis as all of the machines and lights enticed her. She liked the idea of being around lots of ships, but not lots of people, however. Wini told her that she had not lived until she had danced the night away on a pleasure barge circling the Uscru District. Hearing that, Soza told Eres she would make the trip just to see that.
While spending time in Pyloon's, the couple also noted the burgeoning romance between Kestis and Merrin, a Nightsister from Dathomir. Eres called Merrin a delightfully dark maven and commented that she was more subtle in her feelings than Kestis.
Despite the growing Imperial presence on Koboh, Eres wasn't keen on being uprooted from the planet, even with the "atrocious and effective stormtrooper helmets" being present everywhere she went. Soza grew increasingly agitated and vowed to not let the Empire take the Outpost, but Eres reminded her that she could not stop an army by herself. She came to despise the Empire, saying they desired people throughout the galaxy to be all be the same - fearful and obedient. Soza commented that a thousand Empire's couldn't change Wini.
Upon the defeat of the Bedlam Raiders, the pair eventually decided to continue their relationship off-planet. They had bright hopes for their future but agreed that Koboh couldn't provide what they needed. They left Koboh without a clear idea of where they were going but knew that as long as they were together, it didn't matter.
