Description: Spybot was a spy droid who served the former Sith Lord Maul and the Shadow Collective on the planet Janix during the Imperial Era. He was destroyed by the First Brother when the latter threw his lightsaber through the droid's body and caused it to fall into acid.

History
Two years after the Galactic Empire formed, Spybot aided his master Maul in his plans to rebuild the Shadow Collective. Maul began his plans on the planet Janix by targeting Looti Vario and Nico Deemis, two crime lords who left the collective when his master needed them the most.

One night Spybot observed a bank transport and two airspeeders heading to a bank tower owned by Deemis. As the bank transport landed inside the tower's hangar bay, Spybot fired a device that propelled through the air and landed on one of the controls on the inside. Once the doors closed, Spybot activated the device and it remotely reopened the vault's doors, which the bank supervisor droid noticed and informed her forces of the breach, but it was too late as the opening allowed Spybot's allies Rook Kast, two Zabrak Nightbrothers Icarus and Scorn, and several Mandalorian super commandos to break into the tower and steal several repulsorcarts of credit bricks and the bank supervisor droid. As the Shadow Collective personnel leave in the stolen bank transport, Spybot flies onto the transport before hearing a siren noise, which was from two Tactical Defense Force cruisers that received an alert from one of the bank guard droids.

Spybot alerted Kast from her comlink helmet that the police are coming, which Kast activated several tripwire cable traps that cause one of the airspeeders, Unit 10, to get sliced into pieces and crash into the streets. As the second airspeeder dodges the cable traps Spybot fires several blaster bolt that hits the second speeder, further distortating the crew and allowing the Shadow Collective to escape but the Tactical Defense Force tracked the stolen bank transport along with a unidentified shuttle in Sector 8-J. As Kast orders everyone to get the credits into the ship, Spybot waits on the bank transport, when the police arrives. Despite being cornered, Maul emerges from the shuttle and uses his lightsaber to quickly slaughters all the police officers and police droids.

The next morning Spybot listens from outside of a tower that has Deemis' office and learns that the Gran was going to set up a meeting with his rival on neutral territory, exercising unusual restraint thus honoring his truce with Vario before going into open war when one of his Trandoshan lieutenant, who thinks Vario was behind the robbery. Spybot transferred the information to Kast who informed Maul that the crime lords are keeping their truce before going to war. As a result Maul decided to "motivate" Deemis more, ordering Scorn to bring him the bank droid. Spybot laughs as the bank droid became scared as Maul activated his lightsaber.

That night in a port at neutral territory, a skirmish broke out due to Maul using the bank droid's head to frame the Aleena for the robbery. Spybot relaying the recording back to Maul's safe house, where Maul and Kast watch. Much to Maul's surprise, Vario manage to kill Deemis before fleeing and hold off his underlings before being saved by Captain Brander Lawson and Two-Boots. Returning to the safehouse, Spybot flew to Maul's side as he explain his plan to kill Vario, despite Kast warning him that attacking the police headquarters would exposing them.

Spybot went with Maul and the two Zabrak brothers Icarus and Scorn to break into Janix Civil Defense HQ. As Icarus and Scorn killed Unit 413 guarding on Level 8, while Spybot disables the security cameras, which Two-Boots later discovered that something was taking control of the station and Lawson ordering the guards to be on high alert. Spotting Lawson and Two-Boots in the detention block, Spybot activates the doors, separating the droid and the captain. As Two-Boots attempts to regain control of the systems, Spybot shocks him through a network terminal but eventually Two-Boots manages to regain control of the system, unlocking the doors, much to Spybot's dismay and destroyed his side of the terminal in frustration. Despite this Maul manage to get to Vario, where the Aleena offered to help him get revenge of the Pyke Syndicate, thus taking Vario captive and another prisoner Devon Izara, a young Jedi Padawan.

As Maul and the Zabrak brothers escape with the prisoners, Spybot helps find a way out but Izara escapes Scorn and kicks Spybot to escape through a tunnel but the droid manages to stun her, knocking her unconscious. After Icarus destroys the controls, Spybot lands on the bank transport as Scorn takes Izara to the bank transport before getting into the smaller landspeeder with Icarus and Vario.

As the group escape through the city, they catch the attention of a police unit, which Spybot notices and alerts Kast, who has one of her commandos use a rocket launcher to destroy the police speeder. The criminals manage to escape the police until a hooded Mosyk stopped the smaller landspeeder and the bank transport crashed into the smaller speeder. Despite the setback Maul caused the walkway to cause a distraction, which allowed the group to escape back to the safe house.

Arriving back at the safe house, Spybot gets off of the bank transport and sees the Mandalorians treat Icarus and Izara's wounds before Izara and Vario were place in a tanker tube cell.

Later Maul summoned Vario with Kast pushing him down a flight of stairs and Maul instructs him to give him with the time and location of the Pyke's smuggling trade. Threatening to kill him if he didn't cooperate, levitating a cart of credit bricks, which Vario agree to help.

Following Vario's information about the Pyke Syndicate's shipment checks out, Spybot hijacked the Pyke cruiser that was leaving with the money. Spybot sabotage the hyperdrive to prevent the Pyke crew from entering hyperspace and taking control of the ship's guidance system, redirecting them to a nearby moon where the ship landed. Spybot also jammed the ship's comms so the Pykes can't send a distress signal. As the Pykes prepare to defend their cargo, Spybot takes control of the ship, lowering the cargo lifts, and making Maul appear to slaughter all of the crew, as Kast and her Mandalorian followers to seize the money.

Upon seeing the Pykes attempted to contact Vario, Kast has Vario contact Marg Krim. Spybot enables Vario to communicate with Krim, feeding him a fabricated story that rogue lieutenants loyal to Deemis were responsible for the earlier attacks. Vario offers to personally return the stolen payment and and the value of he destroyed cargo. Krim agreed to the terms but threaten to kill Vario if it was one of his schemes. The descepton work with Maul assassinating Krim, taking back control of the Pykes and appointing Krim's Captain of the Guard Kalt in charge.

When the Tactical Defense Force arrive a Sector 14-Q, Spybot notices the two Jedi; Izara and her Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki, the local authorities, continues to monitor the squads, including the probe droid that the officers used to find Maul, going into the factory to find Maul. During a confrontation, Spybot the escalating battle between Maul’s Shadow Collective and local authorities. Spybot notices that more police reinforcements lead by Chief Klyce are arriving and alerts Kast, who orders the forces a retreat. Spybot helps facilitate their escape by deploying a smokescreen against pursuing police units.

Soon after, Spybot fly to the Janix police headquarters and looks up in the sky and sees an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer, which worries him and he contacts Kast warning her that big trouble is approaching the planet.

As the Empire arrives on Janix, Spybot narrowly avoids the numerous TK stormtroopers and flies down to the new safehouse and relays his information to Kast, who suggest they relocate to another planet to Maul, but he refuses to get Izara. Spybot later flies from a Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunship to a Rho-class transport shuttle. Underneath the shuttle he obtains footage of Izara and Daki after the two encounter with the Empire's TK stormtroopers in a train station in Sector 27 but they were unable to leave the city due to the Empire's lockdown. After Kast reports this to Maul he leaves, still intended to recruit Izara as his apprentice.

While Maul trained with his lightsaber on the landing platform of their new base, Kast reports that they had received updates on the Empire, where they viewed Spybot's recent footage of an Inquisitor known as the First Brother surveying their old base in Sector 14-Q.

Later, Kast reports to Maul that Spybot spotted a Viper probe droid where he the Imperials are getting closer to the safe house and learned Imperial troopers were engaging nearby in Sector 9. Despite Kast's concerns regarding the Empire's occupation of Janix and her recommendation against searching for Izara, Maul departed from their new safe house anyway.

After the group get separate at The Mark and Claim casino, Spybot spots Lawson and Daki escaping the TK stormtroopers. Seeing the adults separate from the kids, he locates Izara and Rylee Lawson, as the two were escaping in a secret turbolift from Sul's office to the parking lot where the two head into a underground train, where Maul saves the two from the First Brother.

After Maul saved Izara and Rylee from the First Brother, Maul takes the pair through a train tunnel. At Maul's safehouse Vario and Spybot greets Maul with affection but both is hostile towards Izara and Rylee. As Kast updates Maul, Spybot informs him that Izara and Rylee are getting away.

When Izara and Maul fights, Spybot spots the Viper probe droid and attacks it, calling it "Imperial scum". Spybot then engages in battle as Kast tells Kebris and two other commandos to leave their credits behind because it will slow them down. Spybot guide the group through a tunnel where their Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, the Hex is but the group stop when Kebris vocals his lost of his payment, which Kast threatens him.

When Maul and his loyalist reach a bridge that leads to their ship in Janix's forests, the group were ambushed by TK stormtroopers and open fire. Spybot takes part in the fight and opens fire. During the fight as Maul duel both the First Brother and Eleventh Brother, Spybot grabs a stormtrooper and throws the trooper into the pool below before a gunship fires at him. Thanks to Kebris and two other commando's treacherous actions, the Hex was destroyed, forcing them to retreat while Maul was separating thanks to the Inquisitors.

After Maul causes the cave to collapse, Spybot circles the waterfall using an infrared scan to find Maul but only finds other heat signatures including the First Brother and Eleventh Brother coming out and being picked up. Spybot contacts Kast who informs Icarus, Vario and the three surviving Mandalorian commandos to keeps moving out of Imperial range.

After moving out of Imperial range, Spybot continues to search for Maul but returns from a scouting mission and tells Kast that he has seen no sign of Maul. Kast and the surviving Shadow Collective members have regrouped in a alleyway of Janix city, where the commandos and Vario are stealing supplies and food. Vario expresses impatience at waiting for Maul but is startled when Maul emerges out of an alleyway, much to Spybot's joy.

Spybot and the others later went to Nico Deemis' office where Vario received an encoded transmission from Dryden Vos, a representative of Crimson Dawn.

At Deemis' office, Spybot watched as Vos contacted Maul and makes a deal; if he personally rescues Maul from Janix, Maul will kill his boss Rintero, the current leader of Crimson Dawn, installing Vos as the new leader of Crimson Dawn. Maul agreed and sends a message to Izara, due to needing Lawson's knowledge of underground passage.

At the Armistice Fountain, Spybot crawled above as Izara and her allies the Lawsons, Two-Boots, and her master Daki, arrived. Spybot projected a holomap of Janix city and its environs, where Maul explains that their plan is to rendezvous with a ship that will pick them up on the outskirts of the city. However since the Empire have imposed a full lockdown on the city, Maul needed Lawson due to he might know an alternative route and proposes an alliance as a means of escaping the planet. After both group agreed to work together, the group went to Lawson's route.

As the group went to the route, Spybot flew to the front of the line, and speaks in Binary while Kast translates. She warns that this route has no access out of the city. Maul asks Lawson about the reliability of the route, which the former detective affirms his route and tells them that there is a power station in the next district, which is built over an underground fissure that will take them past the Empire.

Seeing the place guarded by TK stormtroopers, Kast has Spybot jam their comms so they won't call for backup and the group attacks the stormtroopers while Maul takes down a All Terrain Armored Cannon walker.

Entering the power station, Spybot and the other went underground to a manhole and all the fugitives stumble upon an acidic lake. When Rylee discovers a broken-down skiff and Spybot finds another on the other side. Despite Vario's skepticism, Spybot manage to reactivate the damaged skiff and proceed with a plan that involves two people cross the acidic lake at a time. After arguing with Spybot, the Lawsons travel across the acidic lake on the skiff where Spybot does the same with Two-Boots and Vario. Following the Lawsons are Vario and Two Boots, the latter grumbling about sharing a ride with a criminal, which Spybot speaks in Binary saying it is a good thing but Two-Boots argues it is not.

However, before Spybot can continue, the Inquisitors came in and the other fugitives began to fight back, with Kast and another commando getting onto the skiff while the other two commandos were killed, along with Icarus who brought three troopers into the toxic acid waste. Spybot attempted to come back but the First Bother threw his lightsaber at Maul, who dodges it but the lightsaber had hit Spybot, cutting through his body. Seeing this Spybot calls for his master before disintegrating and falling into the acidic lake, which further enraged Maul as he battles the First Brother.

Legacy
After escaping the Inquisitors, the First Brother had a Stormtrooper Commander to inform their master, the fugitives are heading his way, which Kast and a commando were killed by the Sith Lord before engaged Maul, Daki, and Izara in a lightsaber duel. After being outmatched, the First Brother and Eleventh Brother rejoined the battle against Maul and the Jedi. Eventually, Daki was separated from his comrades but Force push the First Brother off a cliff but was killed by Vader. Soon after, Lawson sacrificed himself, killing several TK troopers with an E-Web heavy repeating blaster cannon, to ensure that Two-Boots and his son could escape onboard Dryden Vos's shuttle. After Daki was killed, Maul and Izara quickly became outmatched by Vader and the Eleventh Brother and escape to Vos's shuttle, where the ship departed from Janix and jumped to hyperspace.

Personality and traits
Strictly loyal to his master Maul, Spybot had a personality unique from other droids. Sinister and cocky, The droid often spoke to himself while completing his various tasks, ranging from surveillance and sabotage to direct combat. Spybot is perhaps one of the few individuals that Maul has shown affection for, other than his mother and brother, being the closest thing to a pet the Shadow Lord has had.

Skills and abilities
A saucer-shaped droid, Spybot had repulsorlifts to fly and multiple appendages to climb, crawl, and grasp. Armed with several tools and weapons, including blasters, computer spikes, a smoke screen deployer, and a stun cannon, Spybot had a robust skillset. Other tools he had were a flashlight for dark places, a holoprojector, and a jammer for comlink transmission by TK stormtroopers.
