Description: Nal Hutta, also known simply as Hutta, was a hot, swampy planet located deep within Hutt Space of the galaxy that was the homeworld of the Hutt species and headquarters of the Grand Hutt Council. Nal Hutta was a major haven for both the government—aligned Hutt Clan and other criminal elements of the galaxy, located far from galactic authorities. Its terrain was largely bloated swamps and bogs coated in greasy rains, all of which were greatly exacerbated by the Drengir crisis during the High Republic Era.

Description
Nal Hutta, known also as just Hutta was a ringed planet nestled in the depths of Hutt Space and was located in the Outer Rim Territories and The Slice.  It was a mist-covered swamp world with a hot, humid and fetid climate maintained by thick swampy rain that fell almost perpetually. The world was a hotbed of life and its environment was fairly representative of the sentient Hutt species that inhabited the world. The influence of the Hutts made the world an important location. The planet's surface was covered with numerous bogs with what little solid land there was claimed by the Hutts and used to support their homes.

The Hutts built only a handful of spaceports on the surface of Nal Hutta in order to connect their towns, settlements, and palaces, as the planet received few visitors due to most business with offworlders being conducted on the planet's largest moon, Nar Shaddaa. The foremost of these spaceports was the planet's capital city, Bilbousa, a sprawling mess covered in arching roots that spread out from looming bulbous pods. Within sight of the city was the Palace of Gardulla Besadii the Elder, one of the largest buildings on Nal Hutta, which served as the occasional headquarters of the Grand Hutt Council, the ruling body that both worked and led the Hutt Clan. Under the Hutt's control, the planet shared a reputation with Nar Shaddaa for being polluted and dangerous, but played a leading role in the galaxy's shadow economy.

History
Transformed into a swamp
The Hutt Clan was based off Nal Hutta. Once, Nal Hutta was a planet full of teeming cities. The world was changed during the Drengir crisis, with a Drengir infestation drastically expanding reach of the planet's jungles, a climatic shift with effects that would remain for years to come. Luckily, the new environment was one the Hutts were already particularly well-suited for.

Clone Wars
After freeing Ziro the Hutt from prison on Coruscant, the bounty hunter Cad Bane brought the fugitive Hutt to the Grand Hutt Council on Nal Hutta. Ziro refused to divulge the location of his secret holodiary and was imprisoned by the Hutt Council. However, Ziro managed to escape with the help of the singer Sy Snootles. The Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos traveled to Nal Hutta to apprehend Ziro. However, Ziro and Snootles escaped offworld with the help of Ziro's Mama.

While on an undercover mission to save Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from Separatist assassins, Kenobi, who was disguised as the bounty hunter Rako Hardeen, and the fugitives Bane and Moralo Eval crash-landed on the swamps of Nal Hutta. The trio traveled to Bilbousa Bazaar where they obtained a starship to travel offworld. Despite being pursued by the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Padawan Ahsoka Tano, "Hardeen" and the bounty hunters managed to escape offworld to Orondia.

During the later stage of the Clone Wars, the former Sith apprentice Maul, his brother Savage Opress, and the Shadow Collective visited Nal Hutta in an attempt to force the Hutt Council to join their Shadow Collective. The Hutts rejected their demands and a gun battle broke out between the Shadow Collective and various bounty hunters hired by the Hutts. The Hutt Council escaped but Maul's party managed to capture Oruba, who revealed that Jabba Desilijic Tiure was on Tatooine. After killing Oruba, the Shadow Collective departed for Tatooine.

Imperial era
During the Imperial Era, between the years 3 and 4 ABY, the Crimson Dawn flagship Vermillion traveled to Nal Hutta and landed in the Bilbousa Spaceport. Meanwhile, the bounty hunter T'onga and her crew also arrived in Bilbousa to raid the Vermillion and rescue the child Cadeliah who had been taken prisoner and was behind held on the flagship.

New Republic era
A pair of Hutt siblings known as The Twins were based on Nal Hutta by 9 ABY. Daimyo Boba Fett, with whom the Twins would go on to compete with for control of Jabba's criminal empire on Tatooine, considered their lifestyle on Hutta to be debaucherous. By 28 ABY, Nal Hutta was still considered a crime haven by many within the New Republic.

Places of Interest
Bilbousa
Bilbousa, or Bilbousa City, was the capital city and foremost spaceport on the swamp world of Nal Hutta. The city was a sprawling mess consisting of squat and uninspiring buildings covered in arching roots that spread out from looming bulbous pods. The streets of the city were filled with bounty hunters, mercenaries, and petty criminals, all hoping to work their way up the local power structure. Despite Nal Hutta's near perpetual swampy rain and the thick, foul mist that covered the planet, Bilbousa offered numerous outdoor cafes and eateries.
The city sat within sight of crime lord Gardulla Besadii the Elder's Palace, one of the largest buildings on Nal Hutta and the occasional seat of the Grand Hutt Council, ruling body of the Hutt Clan that controlled the planet. Due to the settlement's proximity to the palace, the shops in the market stocked a surprising abundance of rare and unusual goods, while the spaceport did a roaring trade in second hand vessels, although both were places of low intrigue and sudden violence. Many of the goods sold in the city were made up of the possessions of those who fell foul of the Hutts or failed to take the necessary care around Bilbousa's inhabitants. Despite its size and well-stocked markets, Bilbousa was not a place to conduct business, as most of Nal Hutta's dealings with offworlders were conducted on the moon Nar Shaddaa.

During the High Republic Era, the city was overrun by the Drengir.

Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the Crimson Dawn flagship Vermillion traveled to Bilbousa, landing at the Bilbousa Spaceport to rendezvous with its agents. At the same time, the bounty hunter T'onga and her crew arrived to raid the Vermillion and rescue the child Cadeliah who was being help captive on the vessel. The bounty hunter Dengar, a recent addition to the crew who was secretly a Crimson Dawn double-agent, helped them enter the ship before leaving, saying that he would not be helping them on the actual mission. T'onga and her crew were unaware that Dengar, who departed and waited elsewhere in the city, was sending them into a trap.

Bilbousa Bazaar
Bilbousa Bazaar was the primary marketplace in the city of Bilbousa on the Hutt world of Nal Hutta. During the Clone Wars, both Cad Bane and an undercover Obi-Wan Kenobi acquired goods from a pawnshop inside of the Bazaar.

Bilbousa saloon
The Bilbousa saloon was located on the planet Nal Hutta. During the Clone Wars, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano traveled to the saloon to find information on a group of bounty hunters that included Cad Bane, Moralo Eval, and Rako Hardeen, who, unbeknownst to the two Jedi, was Obi-Wan Kenobi in disguise. Skywalker forced his way through the Gamorrean guards posted at the door before interrogating the Ithorian bartender, using a Force choke when the Ithorian tried to extort him. The pair left as soon as they learned that the fugitives had recently purchased a ship and left.
The saloon's indoor and outdoor areas were packed with dozens of individuals of a variety of alien species. In addition to the outdoor seating, the inside of the saloon, although it had very little lighting and featured floors covered with trash, was very lively, with Twi'lek performers entertaining patrons.

Bilbousa Spaceport
Bilbousa Spaceport was a spaceport located in Bilbousa, the capital city of the planet Nal Hutta. Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the Vermillion, the flagship of the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate, traveled to the spaceport to rendezvous with its agents. At the same time, the bounty hunter T'onga hired fellow bounty hunter Dengar, who was secretly aligned with Crimson Dawn, to get her and her crew aboard the Vermillion to rescue the child Cadeliah who was being help captive on the vessel. Dengar led the crew to the spaceport, where they were able to get onboard the Vermillion, though they realized Dengar had actually led them into a trap.

Pablo's pawnshop
Pablo's pawnshop was a shop in Bilbousa on the Hutt world of Nal Hutta. It was owned by the Rodian Pablo, who sold weapons and supplies to various criminal clientele. The pawnshop was located in Bilbousa Bazaar, the primary marketplace in the city of Bilbousa.

Gardulla the Hutt's Palace
Gardulla the Hutt's Palace was a palace located on Nal Hutta, the Hutt homeworld. The palace was owned by Gardulla Besadii the Elder, a member of the Grand Hutt Council. The palace was temporarily used to imprison Ziro, a Hutt crime lord who held damaging information about the Hutt Council. It was guarded by many Nikto guards and other people hired to guard it. Later, it was attacked by Pre Vizsla, Maul, Savage Opress, and some other Death Watch warriors. All the denizens of the palace were either killed or escaped. Most of the Nikto guards were killed in the ensuing battle.

The palace of the Hutt crime lord Gardulla Besadii the Elder was one of the largest buildings constructed on the swamp planet Nal Hutta. It was built into the supporting stone and organic matter of what resembled a giant fungal pod built within sight of the planet's capital city and foremost spaceport, Bilbousa. Reachable by spacecraft or swamp speeder, the palace and its surrounding complex were heavily fortified and defended and served as the occasional home of the Grand Hutt Council, the ruling body of the Hutt Clan that controlled Nal Hutta. As such, it received higher than average traffic than most palaces on the planet, which generally had few visitors due to most offworld business being conducted on the moon Nar Shaddaa.

Hutt Palace
The Hutt Palace was located on the planet Nal Hutta and was the residence of the Twins. It was destroyed by New Republic Defense Fleet Starfighter Corps pilots during the Battle of Nal Hutta.

Mama the Hutt's house
Mama the Hutt's house was a house owned by Mama the Hutt on the planet Nal Hutta. Following Ziro's escape from Coruscant during the Clone Wars, the Hutt fled to the house. He was tracked by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos, using Vos's force power of psychometry. When the two Jedi entered her house, Vos reported that it smelled like someone died in her house.
