Star Wars: Legacy: War 1
What is it ? : Darth's Krayt, Talon and Nihl are returning to Coruscant, and Krayt recaps his life, from Sand Person, to being betrayed by Darth Wyyrlok.
Meanwhile we see Cade, Wolf and Rawk fighting Krayt, but Krayt tells Cade to obey and he strikes down Rawk and Wolf, before awakening from a dream. He speaks to Wolf who tells him that none of the Jedi sensed Krayts return so they are skeptical of the news, but are willing to go on Wolf's recommendation as they believe Cade has been too close to the Dark Side to be fully trusted.
Cade goes to Deliah and Jariah telling them that he feels he must kill Krayt, and while they aren't sure, they trust him so will help.
On Coruscant, Wyyrlok broadcasts to the Sith that he knows Krayt is dead, because he killed him, Krayt was weak so needed to be replaced, he then tries to send his daughter away, but she refuses, and asks Darth Stryfe who he will side with, to which Stryfe tells him that as per the Sith way, he will side with the stronger.
Elsewhere on Coruscant, Nyna Calixte speaks to a hologram image she has of Kol Skywalker, wondering if the power she gained through her actions was worth the love she lost and the abandonment of her two children, but Moff Veed calls her back to bed.
On Bastion, Marisiah speaks to her uncle about the loss of Antares Draco, and then attends a ceremony for the loss of Draco and the other Imperial Knights that died on Agamar. Meanwhile on Korriban, Darth Havok is torturing Draco, wounding him so badly they need to put him in Bacta to heal and he refuses to speak.
Back on Coruscant, Krayt's fleet has arrived above the city, and Krayt walks into the throneroom remembering when this was the Jedi Temple as he was here on the day that Order 66 happened. He confronts Wyyrlok, and the two fight, first with Force Lightning, then by levitating huge pieces of rubble at one another, and then finally with lightsabers.
As they fight, Wyyrlok recounts the times his family supported Krayt when he was weak and wounded, but Krayt never recognised their power, but Krayt tells him that this is a trap, and Wyyrlok is in it, and he strikes with two lightsabers through Wyyrloks chest killing him.
He immediately demotes Veed from Regent but allows him to remain High Admiral, before announcing that the galaxy must suffer through dead and rebirth just as he has, and he will bring chaos and will bring war. . . .
High Points : We discover so much more about Krayt here, and while much of it is just bringing us up to date with the storyline, I did enjoy that he is old enough to remember key events from throughout the Prequels and Sequels. He has witnessed the rise and fall of other Sith, so has sufficient knowledge to try to avoid it.
Low Points : But nothing much happens in this issue, and the only thing that does, happens so quickly. The war within the sith between Wyyrloks faction and Krayt's, is over, Wyyrlok is dead already. There's no fight to get face to face, Wyyrlok just allows Krayt's vessels to arrive, without fighting them off, the allies of both don't fight, it just goes straight into a one on one fight, which is very Sith, but kind of stupid for Wyyrlok to allow, so I guess he's the wrong person to lead the Sith.
The issue also makes a point that the Jedi don't trust Cade, as he was the only person to sense Krayt's return apart from the Sith. Firstly, we know that Draco also sensed it, but I'll give them that the Jedi don't know that. But rather than all Dark Side people sensing it, it could just be those that have been trained by Krayt and his people, as Cade has. The Jedi seem to be assuming a lot.
So what do you really think ? : I'm wondering if among the power that Krayt has learned is Force Hairdressing? During the fight between him and Wyyrlok, he first arrives with it tied back in a long pony tail, which shows his age with the grey streaks through his hair. During the fight it comes loose, blowing in the wind, and when he looks defeated it is clinging to his face with sweat. But when he defeats Wyyrlok, his hair is tied up once again. Was he projecting an illusion of weakness, or is he just really good at styling his hair?
Final Words : There's nothing much in this issue, it gets Krayt back in power, and recaps what's going on, since it's been three whole months between Legacy ending and Legacy: War beginning, and there's no way that we could remember things for that long, and we need to recap anyway for all those new readers who are going to pick up a sequel series if they never read the original.
Fingers crossed they get on with actually telling a story next issue rather than just setting things up.
Score : 8/10

Okay. I was wrong about Draco being dead.
As for the Jedi, once again they're proceeding on the certainty that Krayt is dead. They're not even considering the remote possibility of Krayt being alive or even somehow coming back from the dead. It was that "certainty" that allowed the Rule of Two to flourish long enough for Palpatine to seize control. You'd think they would have learned from that. But since K'Kruhk and the other took over and reverted Luke's Order back to the PT one, it goes to show they're unwilling, unable, and incapable of learning from their mistakes and changing their ways. In The Last Jedi, Luke said that the Jedi needed to die. As far as this incarnation of the Jedi goes, I agree with Luke.

I'd suspected he wasn't dead, as although everyone sensed he "fell", we didn't see it, and I've been reading comics for long enough to know if they don't show it, it never happened.
As for the Jedi, I just don't think we're seeing the whole picture, they've supposedly joined into an alliance with the Galactic Alliance and the Fel Empire, but so far we've only seen 2 or 3 Jedi actually doing anything, I'd kind of like to know what the rest are doing, or are they just hiding out at the hidden temple?
